I don't think Aoyama is the traitor either, but keep in mind being the traitor doesn't make you a wine sipping villain. Like, you could still have feelings for the classmates you're betraying, I'd even argue a good traitor would need to have genuine bonds to blend in.

If you reread the chapter, it’s pretty obvious he was afraid from being discovered by them (the villains). Although you can interpret it differently (he may not know Dabi etc)

See He probably came to the meeting point in the forest to get more traitor orders but then he realized they were gonna kill him because they don't need him anymore. His true quirk is mild mind-reading, which is why he always knows where the camera is in the anime, why he knew about Repair Lady, why he told Ochako not to worry about Deku when Deku was about to break his finger in front of the entire class and why he knew that Ochako loves Deku - something even the girls (who are much more qualified to realize this) couldn't tell.
