Thoughts on Oyasumi Punpun?
I want to hear anyone's interpretation of it, comments, or what they like about it.
It's my favorite, next to Solanin. Asano Inio is a god. My art style is a bit influenced by his.

Best OTP coming through

I liked it a lot.
I was little confused by the cult and what they were supposed to be/represent.
rip aiko

Holy shit, good taste
Best OTP indeed

I got pretty hard when his aunt raped him

Me too, i plan to read it again to get a better understanding

i would be lying if i said it wasn't hot

I rather What a wonderful world. If you like Asano then you should check it out OP.
On Oyasumi Punpun, it's widly spread in my country. There's a graffiti near my house in an abandoned supermarket. Wish I had taken the picture yesterday when I walked by there.
I didn't finish it because I reand an spoiler and lost my drive but I still love it. It has a lot of impressive pages, it really is something else. It's heart breaking.

To be honest, I'm not sure reading it for the second time will be of any help.

Asano stated in an interview that the cult did indeed save the world from the evil, it's just that no one was aware of that, including the readers apparently.

shit wrecked me for days.

Having it spoiled sounds really fucking shitty lmao
Try to dodge it next time. Don't search up anything about Oyasumi Punpun before finishing it

The art really is something. Far different from other manga I've read. I want to be like Asano one day. When you pass by the graffiti again, feel free to post it in this thread. I'd like to see it.

Ahh alright.
I think I got what you mean.

The last time I read it was 2 years ago, it still remains in my thoughts

one of those things that scars you for life. doubt i'll ever forget.

Punpun is great because a lot of stuff, especially Punpun's emotions, is conveyed by the amazing imagery, reading into which is half the fun.

Kinda reminds me of Takemitsu Zamurai which is also very fun to read as you get a lot of bonus commentary from animals, since a lot of animals are full blown characters in the manga and can talk.

Dubs confirm tho

DAMAGED tier normie shit

It's a good read, with tons of good moments having nox dump punpun killing Aiko's mom on x-mas even as it was translated was such an experience but after you read it you realize a lot of it was Punpun's own fault for never improving himself.
He was fucked up from a horrible family, but he never let go of fixations, made awful decisions, and followed his shitty parents' style of completely giving up with style. He had a lot of good in him, but he not once tried to actually use any of it. He even had some good friends when he had a part time job.

Pretty good, would have been even better if it didn't have the pointless cult stuff.

This mango teach me what we all are idiots as kids/young. Maybe helped me to no stay as a little faggot like punpun but i won`t be really proud of that....

Post your art, faggot.

Pretentious garbage.

Literally asano inio copy paste from his other works muh depression.

Pretty entertaining, but mostly just random and filled with pointless characters and reappearances that never led to anything. Most of it was wasted and nonsensical, as per Inio's wont.

Nothing at all, other than some cooky cult that was there to explain why Aiko's family life was fucked up and thus why she was fucked up and everything became fucked up. That Onodera's childhood friends became involved with it had no significance at all other than as an attempt to make them and the cult seem more relevant than its pretty minor significance, to justify the amount of pages devoted to it.

>asano literally admitted the cult was just an unrelated side story

–Toshiki Hoshikawa and his Pegasus Orchestra take up a puzzlingly large number of pages in the latter half of the manga. What was that all about?

Asano: Yeah, I suspected people wouldn’t be able to make sense out of it. Pegasus shows up in the middle of volume 7, where Punpun has graduated high school and is living on his own. It’s the point in the manga with the least going on — it’s just Punpun brooding in his tiny apartment. Now, I had that part of the manga there because I wanted to do it, but I also knew that it would be pretty dull on its own, so I thought I should add another story happening on a whole other axis.

–Okay, right.

Asano: That’s when I decided to use this character I’d put in earlier — Pegasus — to do a parallel story. Just as the Punpun and Aiko story is a homage to romantic comedies, the Pegasus Orchestra is actually a homage to shonen manga. I’m pretty sure no one understood this at all from reading the manga, but Pegasus was assembling a team that really was doing battle with evil.

–He was?!

Did Dead Dead Demons ever start back up again?

>Thoughts on Oyasumi Punpun?
Pretty good.
Except the females just throw themselves at the dicks of PunPun and Uncle while they are supposed to be betas and the ending was some kind of an idiot plot.
Punpun who was very indecisive before went and made a lot of absolute worst decisions possible.

First and foremost why the fuck not just live together with the girl?
She could just make her stay with him in his appartment and that's it, no need to go and get stabbed.

You can see a bit of influence on the character on the right

It's on hiatus. I think it returns during fall this year

I saved some Punpun shirts on that site a few years back when Sup Forums used to have those threads. Hang on, let me see if I can dig them up. Here we go.

I'd honestly wear any of these, they legit look good and hide your power level in plain sight like nothing else.

Special edition.

Okay, maybe not this one.
