Things can be both good and overrated.

Monster has some of the worst animation I've seen in an anime. Almost every scene was characters either standing and talking or sitting and talking. All the facial closeups gave the animators even less work to do.

It's really not that hard to understand. It's not super deep or anything and most of the symbolic imagery is just for show. It's mostly about communication problems and how people handle them poorly.

FMA2003 had the right priorities. FMAB pales in comparison, besides having more frames and flashy lights

The doctor didn't have the guts to shoot Johan, someone else do it instead. Johan is hospitalized and the doctor decides to save him again. Johan escapes again. The end.

Monster had it's really good moments but it was way too dragged out and the ending was not great. Also in a show with many interesting characters, they had to make the most boring guy the protagonist.

Episode 30 was around the peak. That's the part with the detective that ultimately commits suicide because of his guilt (after Johann fucks with him, anyway), right?
That was probably my favourite part of the series.

The beginning of FMA 2003 is better because it follows the manga faithfully, while Brotherhood speeds through it assuming people have already watched 2003. But only retards think 2003 is better when it goes off the rails and writes it own story. The ending was garbage and the shitty movie only made it worse, but people will defend it simply because it was sad

Monster isn't BAD, the problem with it (and the manga as well) is that it only has enough interesting content for 30 episodes, stretched out into 80.

They did this through a combination of irritating padding of irrelevant shit, and diluting the actual story so much that arcs take twice as long as they need to. Some scenes go on too long, plot points get repeated, there are too many scenes added inbetween just to be 'poignant' that don't actually add anything. I swear to god, watching this I was made to sit through a combined total of 30 minutes watching Anna sit in a room and squeel at PTSD flashbacks. It's fucking rediculous

But the ultimate problem with Monster is how fucking toothless it is. Johan isn't intimidating, despite all they do to make him seem that way. Pretty much all the insidious shit that happens is done on his assumed behalf, rather than his actual behest. His backstory is explored for WAY too long, and isn't interesting or scary enough for people to put so much stock in it
And fuck, dont even get me started on the ending. What a fucking botch job

Fucking wrong. Animation is pretty good for Anime standards. It's just there's not much to animate considering how the source material is. When there's an action scene it looks pretty good.

Bullshit. Anime is a pretty good and faithful adaptation with god-tier voice acting and music.

It's not. It's pretty good for the most part except the last 3rd of the series with those long ass recaps at the start of every episode(but you can fast-forward through those if you want). 162 chapters in 74 episodes is by no means bad pacing.
