Violet Evergarden

Mods deleted the other thread for some reason, maybe they don't like the show.

What did you think of episode 2?

Maybe they don't like a shitpost for an OP.

FMA did it better.

>Mods deleted the other thread for some reason, maybe they don't like the show

You're lying. Kyoani is Sup Forums's official studio. They wouldn't do that.

Why would you make a new thread if we already have an active one

just post the entire episode if you're going to use that many pics you retard

That's a bait thread. Should be purged.

>generalfag is also a newfaggot

Reddit would be a better place for you.

Is the major actually dead lads?

blowjob eyes

My wife Violet is so beautiful

reminder that violet wants to know what is love

It seems they went easy on the filters this time. Is this correct?

I like the animation and art but the dialogue is kinda shit

don't hurt me

I want to marry and impregnate Cattleya!

she deserved it

Violet autism was fun.
Cattleya best girl, I like bit titted onee-san sluts.
Claudia best girl too.

agreed, she was a cunt for leading the dude on
based violet did that guy a favor

The way she had a breakdown after Violet read her letter didn't really make sense huh

BITCHBOY

What did violet tell the man she liked?

>people think that gilbert and violet's relationship is parental
Can't wait until these faggots get Usagi Dropped.

She was on the right in regards of the letter, she couldnt have known Violet was socially challenged. But her smugness when she said "she wanted someone better" could have been confusing anyways.

A victim of social norms.

Please don't remind me.

...

Here I thought the romance would be between Violet and Claudia but it looks like Cattleya and him have a thing going on. I guess he works better as more of a father figure though. I can't stand Benedict so not to happy that it now looks like he'll be the romantic interest for Violet.

Besides that I'm loving it. Great characters, animation, OST and atmosphere. By far one of the best anime I've seen in a while (that are seasonal). Violets autism is hilarious. I died when Erica told her she also wasn't suited to be a doll and violet replied by telling her she didn't give a shit about her.

No more.

Ok but seriously, what the actual fuck did she mean by this? Is Asenshi the only viable subgroup for this? The dub managed to make this scene have even less sense holy shit Netflix.

user the major is dead

he's not coming back

How is that hard to understand?

Claudia's parents gave Claudia a girl's name because they wanted a girl.

Cattleya would hate calling out a girl's name during sex.

I doubt it. They haven't said he's dead explicitly, even though it should be obvious. I wonder what happened to him.

Sure he is.

>Claudia
Poor guy.

A WEAPON TO SURPASS AUTISM

What girl's name did he say in bed?

What are some objective faults you've found in the show so far?

>Technological marvels such as robotic prosthetics but the rest of the world is stuck in the 1900s.
>Itatakimasu, yakisoba, -chan in 1900s Europe.
>No proofreading at all to Violet's first letter, making this whole conflict feel forced.

Stop spoiling everything you cunt.

Is the mayor rebel older brother the baddie?

>>No proofreading at all to Violet's first letter, making this whole conflict feel forced.
But their company is a post-war start-up.

Also, I'm pretty sure the whole point of this show is an anachronistic world. I mean, we even have widespread illiteracy.

>Cattleya would hate calling out a girl's name during sex.

So offensive to the gay community.

>would hate
Did hate, not would. They fucked.

That's the sane translation which Asenshi gives. Who the fuck is Netflix using to translate this stuff, high school weaboos that flunked out of Japanese 1 at their community college like /jp/?

The interwar period was not known for it's shining example of LGBT rights.

It's just Netflix's shit translation, she meant Hodgin's parents wanted a girl but he turned out to be a boy so they named him "Claudia" anyways.

Netflix butchered that scene pretty badly. If they'd put "they" instead of "you" for the third line it'd make sense.

Both Cattleya and Erica have been in the business for years apparently, and only recently joined Hodgins startup. They should be experienced enough already to not fuck up in such a manner, besides, as some anons have pointed out in the other threads, some costumers actually know how to read and they just use their ghostwritting services for better prose and grammar, and that particular costumer had bruises in her fingers, implying that she actually tried writing a letter by herself. We've seen how the process works, the costumer tells the doll an idea of what they want and she writes it down in front of them, Violet's costumer surely had to know what Violet was writing down.

Considering Netflix's lines there don't flow in any kind of logical way, it must be an ESL with no translation checker.

>Both Cattleya and Erica have been in the business for years apparently
Sure but Cattleya and all the other veterans were at housecalls that day.

Violet did nothing wrong this episode, all of those clients had it coming.
Hell, one of them had money to pay for a letter asking to weasel out of a debt.

Was it autism?

I don't understand. Am I not a suitable translator?

She's been institutionalized by being a child-soldier her whole life. So of course she's going to have trouble adjusting to life on the outside.

Really reminds me of Brooks from Shawshank Redemption.

I've never wanted to hatefuck someone as hard as this bitch.

>tomboy
>worst girl
Sasuga.

No trolling. But yes, Violet would be an awful translator for fictional media. You really have to take into consideration all the subtle nuances and implications of the lines.

Word-for-word translations are unreadable/unlistenable garbage.

Violet leaned a valuable lesson today, what people say and what they mean are two entirely different things.

Are you implying Senjouhagara wanted Araragi to do more than just walking her home gently.

can she actually live that long since she's not even human

Tomboys can't be worst girl, idiot. That's not how it fucking works

Were we really supposed to feel bad for her?

Haven't watched this, is this another Fractale?

Of course not.

She's a child-soldier who eventually needed prosthetic arms because of the war. But she's still human.

These are "professionally" done translations that people PAY for.

No, just look at Baioreto's face

Why did they pour so much detail into an anime with such an uninteresting premise? It feels like I'm watching a movie, but nothing sticks. If it doesn't pick up by EP4 then into the bin it goes

Why are they so mean?

Also I don't know what it is, but sleeveless uniforms do things to me.

So would it be better said like:
>Just because THEY wanted a girl. I can't believe it
How did Netflix fuck it up so bad?

faggot in heels
dropped

This is because any kyoani hater and kyoanifag needs to recibe attention and shitpost in entire Sup Forums

>How did Netflix fuck it up so bad?
New to anime I guess, just complain to them, they'll fix the issues over time.
I'm just glad that Sup Forums can finally contribute some money to the industry for once.

She's going to become best girl by the end of the series. Just you wait. It's the law of tomboys.

No guilt. No remorse. No mercy.
Baioretto-chan.

Violet is actually growing on me.

my wife, violet is so cute

>you will never have a wife as rational and cold as violet

Its not fair bros

So only anime that pander to your egocentric ass or you like are allowed to look good? Kill yourself

Who sing's the ending? it fucking sucks

The same singer that did Kyokai Kanata OP

I don't get why does it focus so much on backstory and doesn't do anything with it. Doesn't give much backstory either.

They spend so much time telling us Major is dead just for the sake of saying it and it's nothing but a waste of time, if you dumb down first episode to "Violet now writes letters on behalf of others to figure out what love is" you wouldn't miss out on anything but sometimes impressively animated mechanical arms.

I like episode 2 better because it actually does what I think this shit is about, but even then there's little of it, it's really more like a 2 episode pilot to HOPEFULLY good things starting.

I honestly kind of dig this idea of writing letters on behalf of others, I sure wish show was about that already.

>muh tragic autistic child soldier story
woah

SHIRITAI

NO DESS

What specifically do you not like about it? Everyone just keeps saying its garbage but no one gives specific examples except for

>mfw someone says "aishiteru"

I want to slap that bitch face out of her.

Same, but with my cock

I really like this outfit

...

I like the show, those are some things that just take me out of it, also it seems like characters will be using their same clothes, wouldn't care about this much if the anime wasn't trying to go for a more serious route.

>muh filters

>native 1080p
>some autist still manages to take 79KB jpg SS
>mfw

How so?
She's imagining the man reading it and realizing how screwed she is.

What is wroing with this mouth?

Yes if you are a woman.

No if you are a human.

>Wasting 1.16 MB of bandwidth on something you can barely see

Shit looks downright stunning, but the plot's plain boring. I dunno, senpai.
