I always liked GT. I enjoy Super less than I did GT.

After 20 years the most awaited sequel in the world of anime comes out and it's a story written with the minimum effort possible. Everything is barebones, that much can't be denied, as it was even aimed at kids. GT may have been badly written too but it came out 1 year after the Z anime ended, it had an excuse for being bad.

So yeah, we can objectively say Super was worse if we take into account that it had 2 decades of preparation and millions of possible ideas to use but became even less deep than original dragon ball.

Reasons Goku should win:
- It's the end of the anime and dumb TOEIfaggots might want to end it on a happy note

Reasons Jiren should win:
- His power is in another dimension, no asspull or bullshit powerup fazes him, facetanks shit the strongest characters throw at him, even getting new transformations doesn't do shit, all while very strongly implied to not be at his full power whereas Goku "ran out of stamina" like 500 times at this point - it would be an absolute asspull going beyond all limits of asspullery to see him lose now
- His wish is a mystery yet has been hyped (especially in the manga) as something very important. It wouldn't make much sense to hype it as a mystery if he were to lose.
- Goku has lost nearly every tournament he's attended, including the first two martial arts tournaments, the Cell Games, and the U6 Tournament
- Goku almost never beats an antagonist on his first encounter. Hell, the only exception I can even think of is Frieza.

And they were totally right. Seeing spic tears over Cuckhan is 10/10 viewing.

The answer is really obvious. Toriyama was planning to make Gohan the main character, but changed his mind.

My theory is that Toriyama was going to end the Cell arc with the start of Gohan's journey but his editors told him he needed to keep Goku. That's why he timeskips Gohan into a nerd, it's the only explanation for why Gohan isn't the one defeating Buu.

You forgot the fact that Jiren and his friends are actually GOOD PEOPLE and fucking SUPER HEROES unlike ragtag team of semi-chaotic neutral fight sluts that are the Z-Fighters.

1) The people of Universe 6's earth were destroyed, so Champa couldn't bring anybody there to the tournament.

2) Why are we meant to see that planet? It has no ties to the Earth that we've come to know. Beerus only made that wish for two reasons: 1) To get Champa to owe him for that wish, and 2) The Earth's cuisine is especially appealing, so if Champa has an Earth in his universe he doesn't need to go to Beerus' universe for food anymore.

3) The tournament isn't pointless because it directly contributes to the events in the next two arcs. Zamasu watched Goku compete against Hit on KamiTube, which gave him his idea to become Goku Black. Goku Black has also made a difference in various points in this arc, most notably when Fused Zamasu breaks down due to the mortal half (Goku Black) fused with a god half. And Zeno-sama hosted the ToP in the first place because he actually liked the U6 vs. U7 tournament, and he wanted to see more of that for himself.
