Given how it still manages to tastefully and consistently incorporate the rest of the cast, I'd say it was a fine spin-off which did a pretty good job at fleshing out somewhat under-developed characters by giving them plenty of fun and sensible activities to do with each chapter.

I just want to say that I searched for RAWs of Gekkan Action (the magazine where Dragon Miad and the spinoffs are published), and I found 4 more untranslated chapters in the issues of November, December, January and February.

Nov = Magical Girl Time
Dec = School Uniform Time
Jan = Maple Viewing Time
Feb = Christmas Time

the basic logic in that drawing is that they wanted to draw Kanna as a cute teddy bear. logic doesn't simply adhere to real world physics. that would be simplistic and boring.
