Mahou Tsukai No Yome

What the hell is this series even trying to preach?
Is it just a fantasy for 4/10, angsty girls to eat up, or is there something more to it?

all I remember is mangafags being angry and not recommending it for some reason but it was like 2 years ago

It's wish fulfilment for teenage girls with derivative directing. What more do you need to know? It's made in order to sell volumes of the manga. Which is made in order to sell as much as possible by pandering as much as possible. What do you wish to know?

idk but it's pretty fucking shitty

I like it. It's pretty comfy.

It's shounen. You self-insert as the skeleton man and raise your future wife.

>it's shonen
It's wish fulfilment for teenage girls.

It runs in a shounen magazine. It would take you 5 secs to google it.

why are you talking like you want the series to preach to you? This is a pretty low tier bait. Though I thought I'd reply and help you get started.

Op you end all the help you can get. So much for angsty girls though, you are probably the angstiest girl all of them all.

>thought that Elias would be the generic handsome, charismatic shoujo love interest
>he's actually /ourguy/
It was a pleasant suprrise.

When I saw the art and read the summary I thought it would be a crappy self-insert story for teenage girls. After watching the ovas I thought I might have been wrong, but the series proved to be exactly what I had imagined at first, and I finally dropped it when she went to make her magic wand. I had kept watching assuming it was going to be only one cour.
He's literally a beast in the shape of a man, being changed by the main girl's presence. There's more than one stereotype for a love interest in female literature.

>It runs in a shounen magazine
Perhaps in order to appeal to a broader market than just people that buy One Piece

The fuck am I reading? One Piece is one of the biggest manga in Japan, with a broad appeal and read by basically everyone who reads manga.

This show is better Than Violet evengarbage

It's a good show. I like it.

I'm sure you truly believe that. But One Piece is a parody shonen only understood by adult males. Young adults will have their realization point once they reread it. Females on the other hand will never comprehend One Piece. Just like you will never understand my post.

I was bored as hell and a little bit creeped out by the first episode and never bothered watching the next one.

Just wait until the eyeball swapping starts.

Im too sketched out that a 14 year old girl is getting stockhold syndromed to enjoy the "magic" parts of the show, and even so the "magic" in this world doesnt really make sense nor is really developed sooo 5/10

Reminder that he tries to kill a little girl to save Chise, and Ruth is all right with it

Yeah, it's like Rick and Morty. You need a certain IQ to understand it, that females will never achieve.

Silky is best girl.

Possible. I only know of One Piece though and it rings true there. Not sure if it has to do with IQ though. As I never specified that. I only mentioned gender and maturity. Which are only so much related to IQ. Essentially you're acting as if I am in agreement with you. Which isn't the case.

Acually, I was making fun of you, because you're a fucking retard.

>I was merely pretending to be retarded
Got it

kys

Not really preachy imo unless you really hate folklore and ancient traditions that have been lost to the modern common sense.

Is this comparable to Akagami no shirayuki?
The posts in this thread are giving off some really fucking mixed signals about this to be honest.

Akagami was boring for me. Too generic fantasy. This one is closer to mythology or occult than fantasy.

>calls his own position retarded without realizing it
You okay buddy?

its about the class struggle

>shonen
>nothing ever fucking happens
>all males are beautiful
>all females are engaged in other relationships so as to be rendered nonthreatening
>skullface has dark, troubled, mysterious past and wrestles constantly with it
>shonen

>shounen is a genre and not a magazine demographic

I was looking for a Mahoutsukai no Yome to profess my love for Silky, but you fags sure like to ruin things.

Nonhumans in european folklore tend to have pretty alien morals.

preach?
what does your favorite anime preach?
Magus Bride is a solid anime with good characters

what "something more" does any anime have? we're fucking talking about anime here

It's a bit of a weird one. On the one hand, I really liked the art, music, and the magical creatures everywhere, especially that blue lizard thing that hangs around the house. On the other, they don't explain all that much so most of the story, for good or for ill, is just things kinda happening, even if most of them seem like that's just how they're supposed to happen, particularly after the fact.

Overall, I give it a 7/10.

>I was merely pretending to be retarded
Got it

Is it Silky or is it Silver?

I think Elias calls her silky b/c silky is a type of browny? Silver is her name

it's about accepting death you fucking idiot, how much more obvious does it need to be for you to understand it

Not not him but are you stupid? How is this meant to appeal to boys between the ages of 12 and 18?

The same way Aria and Gabriel Dropout are.

>Is it just a fantasy for 4/10, angsty girls to eat up
thats me so yeah, it is

Ruth would kill for Chise too, that's what love is like

ITT: Reading Comprehension continues to decline in the new Millennium

That's kinda the age in which boys start to branch out in terms taste.

I cannot wait.

regardless of which magazine it runs in it's clearly a shoujo and not a shounen

It's great and I love it
My opinion is absolute fact because I'm myself

If I enjoy this show while not being its target audience, am I then it's target audience?

That she is.

Damn...

post pics

ur a fag yes

Are you here just because nostaligiachick mentioned it in her new vid?

its garbo

I like it, I just pretend the slave trade thing didn't happen and it's all nice

You're an idiot. It being in a shounen mag is all that determines what makes it a shounen.

I can't tell if posts like these are more incriminating than posting tits or if this is some shoujo meme I don't get because I don't watch this garbage

It's not like normies watch anime anyways.

You must be retarded to think that the story's target audience isn't teenage girls

It's still in a magazine for young boys even if is there is some overlap.
I've read some shoujo that were as edgy and bloody as an average seinen, so it's not like this is a strange thing.

Both are correct, neither are right.

Outside of scheduling and marketing, publisher is not something that tells you too much about contents you are getting, most mangakas are just happy to get serialized by any publishers at all. A lot of my ironic weeb friends 100% sure that Death Note and Koe no Katachi are seinen, for example, because for them shounen is battle manga/anime like BNHA or Fairy Tail, because they don't watch too much anime, like you it seems.

Holy fuckballs, she's still doing that shit? I thought that whole faggotorium imploded and got gobbled up by youtube.

At last I truly see

She is called Silver lady, the silky.
It's also a pun since they both start with sil.
It's basically like saying "susan" vs "housekeeper"
They're both appropriate ways to adress someone, one is just more familiar.

> nothing ever fucking happens

Things happen a fair bit, actually, even if it's on a mostly episodic basis plot wise.

> All males are beautiful

I wouldn't really say that, Elias has a fucking skull face 90% of the time, the priest guy is okay looking at best, Joseph is a kid, Joel is an old man, and Ruth just looks like a mopey teen, none of them are that conventionally attractive.

> All females are engaged in other relationships so as to be rendered non-threatening

It's not really the relationships that make them non threatening, more like their role in the story makes them that, usually being weird fae creatures who don't really involve themselves that much in other peoples affairs, or people like Angelica who take on more teacher-y roles. But regardless, that's more on Elias's side for A) seeing Fae as creatures who look down on him and B) seeing most humans, regardless of age, as these young, unfathomable beings, even Chise is like that to some extent, so it follows that he wouldn't be interested in someone else like that.

> Skullface has dark troubled mysterious past

He IS a fucking monster, it's not like they generally have pasts that are all sunshine and rainbows, besides, even just with the bits and pieces of his past that we get there are elements that make him intentionally silly and non-threatening, like almost the entirety of the time he was living with Lindel and was like, a child's height.

You guys have such shit taste. The atmosphere, setting, and OST for this series is so fucking awesome. It's the first series that has given me spice & wolf vibes since it.

preach

I watched the first episode. It just seemed like twilight with sorcerers instead of vampires.

The first episode is wildly different from the rest, so no you didn't.

Nah, it's beauty and the beast/pinocchio

>shonen
>outside of battles nothing every happens
>all females are beautiful
>all males are either asexual or comically horny as so the self-insert protag can be the "normal" one when he attracts a girl
>almost always a side character with a dark, trouble, mysterious past and wrestles constantly with it

Nigga it is shonen but with the genders reversed. People like you just get your balls in a twist every single time because it's a female MC that you're too pleb to self-insert into.

It's a pretty good show. All the fags getting triggered by it are extremely pathetic and insecure - probably mostly beta orbiters.

Just enjoy decent anime.

So, Elias is a wendigo, right?

>Skull-face
>Has eaten people (probably engaged in cannibalism)

He's a leshen.

Maybe, that would make sense considering his 'hunger' for people and other fae creatures referring to him as though he isn't really fae or human but some failure mix. but that wouldn't really explain the thorn motif which is a big part of his character motif.

Honestly I dropped the anime. I think the narrative didn't translate that well in its animated form. I've been following the manga from time to time, but, yeah, I can't say, aside of its premise, it is be the best romance/fantasy out there. I hate romance baiting.

It's a magical tale about a little girl learning to love life, the importance of family & home, and how to cope with loss. You know it's targetted at prepubescent girls because there's a domineering father figure and all other men are either carefree/childlike or elderly and kind.

Most female young adult fiction by contrast has an emphasis on puberty, male attention, and rebelling against perceived restrictions/authorities.

It isn't romantic at all though. He's clearly a stand-in for Chise's own father.

You've never read a Grimm Tale have you?

He does share a fair few traits with a Leshy, mainly in him having horns and being something of a shapeshifter, but it doesn't fit with a Leshy having wolves and bears follow them, nor would it really explain why other fae creatures don't consider him a full fairy, rather as a failure who isn't fairy or human.

Its a harem anime for girls

especially funny if you watch it aftet Peterson's video on female sexual fantasy.
>the most popupar erotic content for girls is fiction writing
>the most popular characters are dominant/predatory men such as billionaires, surgeons, vampire/werevolves and fucking pirates
>this show is about the girl being sold by human trafficers(pirates) to a fucking billionaire monster, then she finds a werevolf, a magical healer dude and is literally surrownded by cool men all of whom want to exploit her

literally a wet drean for young girls, pretty much a gender flipped harem anime.

She's referral to as "Silky" and sometimes "Gin no Kimi" literally Silver One. I always thought it was a reference to Selkie but after learning that she was originally a Banshee, it makes no sense.

I did just find out about. Welsh spirit that fits Silky to a tee. Note the dislike of clergy and the cream.
>Bwbach (plural Bwbachod), a household spirit similar to a brownie or hobgoblin, industrious but mischievous. They are good-natured and expect only a nightly bowl of cream for their services. However, they have a dislike of clergymen and teetotalers, upon whom they will play relentless pranks

>gender flipped harem anime
That genre is called otome. MC doesn't have enough suitors for it to be that.

All true except that premise really doesn't hold up past the first episode. Later revelations show Elias is much more a father figure than a romantic interest.

> literally surrounded by cool men all of whom want to exploit her

Literally no guy in Mahou Tsukai is cool, even Elias isn't conventionally cool even if he is the closest to it, and the only one who wanted to exploit Chise is Joseph, who has the appearance of a 12 year old.

> then she finds a werevolf, a magical healer dude

Both of whom are not romantically interested her in the slightest.

Ruth is a familliar and even when he's in human form is treated/acts like a brother to Chise, and Lindel is only ever a teacher/guide to her. Even her relationship with Elias is pretty stilted and not very romantic most of the time, him being a monster isn't really an appealing factor in this case, and in the most recent case, him being a monster in terms of worldview actively drove her away from him and expressly painted him as the bad guy, not something to swoon over.

He is a magic man. They are always cool.

>harem anime
>only one love interest who usually is treated like a parental figure

What the fuck

Not to me, at least, he can be intimidating, sure, but not really 'cool'

I like the show.

Only time he even got mad was when she got hurt. Dude strolls into danger with total confidence.

I don't want to spoil anything but Chise was never abducted, no pirates. Ruth is not a werewolf, he's a dog turned spirit, nor a romantic interest, a brother if anything considering Chise is a stand-in for his previous owner who he saw as family. All of the men come off as goofy or kind, usually by having a female foil knocking them around. The only ones fitting your description are Cartophilus and maybe Renfred. The former is a monster damned by the Lord himself and the latter basically has no interaction with Chise and already has a romantic interest.

She's a Brownie. Despite not looking like a traditional one

>Literally no guy in Mahou Tsukai is cool,
What did you mean by this?
>a fucking 2 meters tall evil wizard everybody is scared shitless of with a skull for a face
>pussy slaying sexy druid guy probavly srong as balls and got healing powers too
>the Twillight guy - about the most popular thing with girls
>sexy vampire just in case some watchers may be attracted to females

Do male characters even get more attractive than this from female perspective?
I think they are not "cool" in a sense action movie heroes are, they pretty much combine everything a girl could like in a female equivalent of waifubait.

I mean intimidating wherein he's threatening someone, not specifically when he's angry.

And again, him just being confident in terms of magic =/= cool for me, Elias IMO is a little too insecure about himself to really be that kind of character, even if he's deadpan about it most of the time, him not being able to feel the full spectrum of emotions, at least not strongly, kind of makes it so that he just can't be conventionally cool, confidence in a fight doesn't really mean much if you don't have the capacity to feel fear in the first place.

Chise explains it pretty well in that the more she see's him actually display emotion the more like a child he seems, since, yeah, it's not a thing he's used to, which makes him feel inexperienced and again, insecure.

I really wish I could post my wizard folder with vials full of dragon jizz and socks made of skinned penguins and rainbow colored vomit. Wizards are creeps. How often do you think Lindel bathes? He probably smells like his reindeer.

Yeah but the Welsh name for household spirits directly mentions unique traits she has.

Magicians != wizards. Wizards are old dickheads. Magicians live by their wits and the magic they've charmed out of a mysterious world you can only imagine, then die tragically young.
