Jitsu Wa Watashi Wa is probably the most consistently fun and heartwarming manga I've read. Stick with it to the end.

The setup looks extremely similar (albeit with monster girls) but I'm hoping the MC isn't as much as a cunt as Sakurasou no Pet na Kanojo's. He kept getting gilt edge chance after gilt edge chance and still whined and lashed out whenever anything didn't go his way.
