If i get this episode right, the coffin was a completely separate gift for Kaede, and the mummy just was put in it for convenience, since both gifts were sent to the same address anyway.

It's actually kind of funny, the big size plush is still reasonably priced (1600-2000 up from 600-800ish) but the smaller size ones are now 7500-9000yen secondhand. People don't want big Mii-kuns.
