Why did it have to flop?

Why did it have to flop?

Just thinking about all the stupid shit this show did still makes me smile.

>Why did it have to flop?

It was too high-IQ and incomprehensible for western audience, and tried to hit too many niches for the Japanese audience

Stuff like that made it unforgettable. If it was just Japanese kick ass it would be an okay, sort of boring show.

YOUR SALES DATA SAYS YOU ARE RIGHT, BUT MY SENSE OF JUSTICE TELLS ME YOU ARE WRONG.

Does it matter that it flopped? I liked it, but I wouldn't have wanted more of it.

it took the studio with it

It had a big role in killing Manglobe, which wasn't a perfect studio but still didn't deserve to die.

Samurai Flamenco was not even remotely high-IQ

It killed manglobe?
Man that makes me sad.
I liked manglobe but I fucking loved Samflam.
I consider it more of a singular experience rather than just an anime.

>Why did it have to flop?
Why is this even a question? From Ep. 1 2ch hated it and was calling it fujoshit. It never stood a chance because it didn't have CGDCT, it was just a glorious parody of sentai.

That being said, if they ended it at ep. 12 it would've been a master piece, not that the proceeding antics weren't fun or hilarious.

>parody
I really feel it was an homage, not a parody

It had plenty of love put into it, just not in the animation department.

SamFlam's ending was genuinely great.

This is how a studio should go down. Not in sales but in history.

it's both, that what made it so beautiful.
It's like they threw pure emotion on the screen and even when it gets really stupid you can't help but fall for all the heart that was put in.

Gangsta probably didn't help either.

Stuff like that makes it a Japanese Kick Ass
