Still waiting on another Koike Lupin OVA

He might do one more since everything should be in threes. Hoping we finally get one that focuses on Lupin himself. I know some people want a Zenigata one but that would be retarded considering Koike Zenigata is shit. Doesn't even act the way he should.

...

It'll probably wrap up with Lupin and Mamo.

Remember that time a gourmet fattened Lupin up in order to eat his brain?

Remember that time Lupin stole Napoleon's magic talking cards from a jew?

Remember that time Lupin and company cosplayed the characters from the 1978 TV adaptation of Journey to the West and then were used as pieces in a game of human shogi by two guys in giant oni mechs?

Remember that time..

Remember that time there was an episode with a character that was a not so subtle reference to the Emmanuelle softcore porn films?

...

...

He's a nice man.

Such great episodes

Not as great as that time Lupin had to face the zombie of his dead lover, whose father was a nazi.

Can the new show be as good as the old show was? I donĀ“t think so

is this a remake of that episode with fujiko on the tickle machine?!

Yes my dude

Yes, it is.

I'm not into tickling as a whole, but that was kinda hot.

Remember that time Zenigata had to protect a woman that couldn't talk or else she could risk getting blown up?

Yes. ;_;

How come in the Lupin movies they make Zenigata so incompetent compared to the anime and is never actually involved in the main plot? It really annoyed me in Voyage to Danger where he got replaced by that corrupt IPCO officer and instead of teaming up with Lupin to take down Shot Shell he just takes a vacation in Hawaii while Lupin and gang do all the actual work.

A better question is, who gives a shit?

I do, I want to see Zenigata actually be useful for once.

They always have difficulty giving the entire ensemble cast things to do in the movies and specials, and for Zenigata it's multiplied by the fact that he's technically an antagonist.

It just gets worse in the 2000s specials, especially right around the time Goro Naya's health started deteriorating.

The guy who does Zenigata now is trash. Good VA, terrible Zenigata. Lacks the comedic delivery Goro had.

I like his zenigata. Same goes for new lupin VA

Where does Lupin get all his fancy gadgets and stuff?

Still waiting for Part 3 to get a complete series release

Kurita is an okay Lupin. He lacks the carefree nature Yasuo added to Lupin. At least he sounds like how the character should whereas with new Zenigata, it's a completely different voice which changes his characteristics altogether. Don't like it. Fuck that guy.

I like Yamadera well enough. He doesn't touch Goro Naya in his prime, but it's still better than listening to him struggle with shouting his lines.

He's rich and extremely intelligent. Probably makes it himself or pays a guy to make his shit.
Wait until all of Red Jacket is out. It will happen eventually.

The usual place.

That's pretty fucking sweet, my dude. I'm going to miss Becca and Nyx.

>no rebecca

Remember that time Lupin spent years of his life in a prison just to trick Zenigata

Remember that time during their first encounter Goemon tried to kill Lupin and Fujiko was his girlfriend?

>Remember that time Lupin spent years
It was one year.

Yasuo Yamada's Lupin sounds more natural and carefree just by the sheer fact that's just what his voice sounded like.

Kurita is a very talented impressionist but it doesn't sound natural.

So I've been wanting to get into Lupin III for a while now. Where should I start? I know there's the most recent one from like 2015, but there have been so many series I don't know which one is a good place to really start. Any help?

Start with the first part and make your way up to 4. You can watch the movies or specials in any order you want.

Watch the pilot film and then watch the first TV series.

...

Watch the first series (Green Jacket) then just go with any movie or episode that sounds interesting.

Pilot film is pure kino.

Thanks! I'll try to watch the pilot film in the next few days

How am I supposed to read this? It's like a timeline that goes backwards. Is it trying to say that the Lupin III chronology is backwards? What the fuck is going on there?

Agreed. It's entertaining enough on it's own for me as a fan just to see how much was changed in each version and in the eventual TV series, but due to it basically being a pitch it's also a pretty good way to get newcomers familiar with the core cast and dynamic in a little over 12 minutes.

Make sure to watch the theatrical version of the pilot.

Its just in order of release from most recent to the oldest.

I own the Green jacket DVD set which has all the pilot versions. What are the differences between the two other than Lupin being voiced by different people?

>How am I supposed to read this?
You don't. it's just pictures and years.

There's some changes in the order things happen. The title card comes up earlier in the CinemaScope version iirc. The aspect ratio in that version is also 16:9 as opposed to 4:3 likenin the later television edit.

And, of course, pretty much all the characters are played by different actors with ths exception of Jigen and Fujiko.

They're still essentially the same film though, so it doesn't really matter if you watch one or the other. I just prefer the 16:9 aspect ratio.

Do you think they would ever make an OVA about Lupin the First?

He smiles

The episodes always have a fun premise, but never amount to anything. How do enjoy this?

...

So has Fujiko slept with every man except Lupin? Bitch never puts out for him even after all he's done for her.

It's not about the stories. You watch for the characters and their chemistry. The wacky adventures that don't lead anywhere are just there to gives these characters something to do.
Pretty sure Lupin at least stuck it in her in the beginning of Twilight Gemini. Plus he rapes her constantly in the manga.

Who drew this?

>not appreciating hardboiled Zenigata

hi

I actually prefer modern Zenigata to the classic one. The classic one was just too goofy. Even in the tv series, pretty much every "serious" story in Part II and Part III had to go with an original antagonist, with Zenigata being unable to be a real threat to a more serious/mastermind mode Lupin since his basic character was goofy and single-minded.

Lupin and her bang in First Contact I think.

I don't enjoy there interactions either. Very simple and formulaic.
One of my favorite moments was in one of the Telecom episode, think 84 with Jigens teacher. At the end when Zenigata finds the jewels among the debris and Lupin gets increasingly annoyed with him.
That was really fun, since the animation allowed the characters to emote themselves for once. You don't get that in the regular episodes, because those are cheap as fuck.
