Explain his ideology, motivation, and endgame.

He wanted to achieve world peace by holding a gun to everyone's head.

it's better to be feared than loved

Essentially this. Obey, or get fucking nuked. On a side note, why did he obliterate the capital?

He wanted to be a Sunrise mecha villain

>why did he obliterate the capital?
Everyone there was under Lelouch's control.

To demonstrate his power to the world and to weaken Brittania so that they would submit to his authority.

Was it even viable as a path to world peace?

I was under the assumption that he was trying to wrestle control of the empire for himself. Were there any remaining Knights of the Round who were on his side? Need to re-watch season 2, working on 1 again.

Gino and Anya were with him.

But why did he care about world peace?

Why do people want to do good things?

>ideology
Whatever is necessary is good
>motivation
Duty, boredom
>endgame
Peace, enjoyment

Kill all nipponese

Screw that, what the fuck was up with Diethard?

Doubt it. At most people will start to rebel against that gun. Remind me of anime Jormungand actually.

>He wanted to achieve world peace by holding a gun to everyone's head.
So basically what the world thought Lelouch did at the end of R2.

We don't know much about his motives to determine that. He could have actually wanted world peace, or he thought as the prince with the most ability it was his obligation to expand Britannia, or he did it because he wanted people to remember him fondly.

Dialogue from other characters, however, indicates that Schneizel is a ruthless man who wants to become King. By creating peace and strong ties between Britannia and other nations, it would ensure that he is crowned King with the least opposition. He only advocates for peace for PR, but uses force and war whenever necessary.

Diethard was much easier to read. He was an opportunistic journalist who wanted the sole glory of bearing witness to the rise of the world's future ruler. It didn't matter to him whether it was Zero, Schneizel, or anybody else. He sided with the person he thought had the best shot at becoming the best King.

He wanted to be Butcher?

>Schneizel is a ruthless man who wants to become King.
But wouldn't dialogues from pic related indicate the otherwise?

>Charles
>Want to achieve peace by assimilating everyone's conciousness

>Schneizel
>Want to achieve peace by threathen everyone trough fear of Freiya Holocaust

>Lelouch
>Want to achieve peace by divert everyone's hatred to him as Iron-fist Tyrant in history

Kinda boring when everyone's goal is peace. Hopefully R3 will introduce a villain who his goal is chaos oriented and strive to make everyone at throats with each other.

>Dialogue from other characters, however, indicates that Schneizel is a ruthless man who wants to become King
No, that's definitely wrong. He doesn't give a shit about himself, he's just trying to enforce the greater good by whatever means necessary.

Dude it's working right now. The only reason you're safe right now is probably either because your country has nuclear weapons or is under the protection of one who has. It's called (aggressive) sanctuarization. Unless you're in a country with strong national, political and territorial defenses, so much it's too much of a bother to pick a fight with you, like Switzerland.
