Yes

Yes. Quit anime.

Yes, but only on April 1st.

No

Y E S

Currently watching apocrypha, it's so fucking bad what the fuck.

based

true

Absolutely.

I liked it at first but now like 12 episodes in I cant even bring myself to finish it.

No, like seriously this is a fucking akame ga kill clone.
I don't even know who the main character is, the story is all over the place.

pathetic

When it was on air, it made the old Fate Stay Night looks like shit.

But pinnacle of anime? Too exaggerated.

I'm sorry but Zero is beyond fantastic.

No, but it's the pinnacle of Fate

it's at least better than fate/stay night

The last two episodes were a trainwreck of an adaptation, so no.

Someone turned my edge post about Kirei being the greatest protagonist ever into pasta once, Felt pretty good.

That's not Devilman Crybaby.

Zero and UBW were each flawed on their own way but definitely good except for the great fuckup of adapting Zero first. But if they played their cards right the HF trilogy may get there.

>Ufotable
>Pinnacle

>When it was on air, it made the old Fate Stay Night looks like shit.
Are you sane? Old fate looks great.
Of course, zero looks A LOT better than UBW, but still, most scenes looked wooden, especially character movement. Action scenes were cringy as fuck due shitty CGi.

it's not even the pinnacle in its own franchise, much less in the entirety of the medium

What is this shitty Violet Evergarden ripoff?

It's not even the pinnacle of Fate anime.

desuarchive.org/_/search/image/J1J5nMnQQiND_NL5fyPQ1A/

Fuck off back to OP.

desuarchive.org/r9k/thread/38594077/#38594077

To be fair, you need to have a high iq to enjoy fateshit.

Oh you're talking about some fate show right?
If it's not part of the PRISMAILLYA spin off I don't give a fuck

What are your favorite moments and scenes in Fate/Stay Night, Zero, and Hollow Ataraxia?

not hard 2bh

youtube.com/watch?v=W6vuqejMWM8

The best moment in the entire VN.

doesn't Fate/Extra ep. 1 get air today? and it's by that crazy fuck who did Rebellion?

Kotomine makes any scene he's in golden.
That's a great one but I enjoyed him absolutely demolishing Sakura's victim complex in just a few sentences right afterward even more.

The scary part is that the final parts of HF starting with the whole Shirou-Kotomine forest co-op session are so perfect in the visual novel they will fuck them up completely if they change too much.

We haven't seen Church on the Hill used in a single recent anime adaptation, and it fits fucking PERFECTLY for the Kyrie Eleison chant. Kotomine also has flashbacks which humanize him a lot, and they might skip these as well.

Fate: Rose and Hydrangea
UBW: Pic related
HF: Rain or Liberation
Zero: Kariya's final daydream
HA: Sakura's castle date

>so perfect in the visual novel they will fuck them up completely if they change too much.

Thoughts on UFO UBW and HF?

>implying based Sudo won't cut the entire Ilya kidnapping part to make room for more Sakura and a longer epilogue

Haven't seen HF's first movie yet because
>lmao Yurop
but UBW's adaptation was all right, I really liked the addition of some F/Z content during the later part of the anime and scenes like the Last Stardust were honestly pretty great. Having said that, and I think this is extremely ironic, if you value that the anime adaptation also takes the atmosphere of the source content into account, I think that the original Fate adaptation portrayed the atmosphere the best. Probably in no small part due to Kawaii's ost, but if you read the visual novel and then watch Ufo's UBW you're going to be experiencing two stories which are the same on the surface but feel completely fucking different on a higher level, meanwhile the original anime got a tad closer.

Nobody actually cares about Sakura user. Maybe the movies will fix that but I think the people that are adapting HF should realize that she's not the reason why the route got so popular in the end.

>cut the entire Ilya kidnapping part to make room for more Sakura
I recognize this as bait yet am still disgusted on a personal level

>Fate/Zero
>Pinnacle of anime
>Half of it is utter shit of chit-chatting and nothing happens
>WOW, BUT LOOK HOW BEAUTIFUL THIS ANIMATION IS

how's the HF route manga?

KnK>...>Fate

This.
I kinda miss Rider from Fate/Zero, however.

redpill me on Kara no Kyokai movies

I tried to start watching them a couple of times but I always feel like I'm missing some knowledge, even Tsukihime hooked me more.

>Nobody actually cares about Sakura user
Sudo is a huge Sakurafag that completely cut out Ilya's scenes for the sake of more undivided Sakura focus, by the way.

yes

It's a pretty great adaptation that rushes nothing, adds extra scenes from Sakura's perspective and looks amazing, but the monthly pace plus the author's tendency to release 10-page chapters makes it incredibly slow. They're still on the morning of day 6.

You seriously don't see the appeal of professionals, most of them on equal levels (at least that's what the anime tries to make you believe at the beginning) spying on each other and trying to play mind games to get a wish granted?

F/Z is a wet dream for people who are intelligent enough to realize that the HGW is an event with implications so potentially dangerous that in reality it would be supervised to hell and back by both the Church and the Mage's Association, and this is precisely what you get, alongside a plethora of interesting characters out of which everyone ultimately gets what is coming to them. That's not to say that FSN is bad, it's just different and allowed to happen because Kotomine is a dickfuck and limited the organizations' involvement due to manipulating Bazett and then killing her.

>I think that the original Fate adaptation portrayed the atmosphere the best.

why?

I have no faith that they'll live up to the VN, it's easier to just hope they at least do the visuals/atmosphere justice.
Heaven's Feel is even more monologue/narration based than UBW was, even during fights. Especially during fights. The whole Nine Lives Blade Works scene plays out in like 10 seconds of "real time" but Shirou's internal monologue and vision of Archer is what gives the scene weight, on top of Ilya's own perspective we see right afterward.
Kotomine vs Shirou without seeing his thoughts will still be metal as fuck but it can't have the same impact the VN does.
Really all of the emotional scenes in the last two days while Shirou's mind slips away are going to be so hard to convey visually. A static filter isn't going to deliver Shirou's absolute desperation and helplessness as he watches Ilya walk into the Grail.

>this is precisely what you get, alongside a plethora of interesting characters out of which everyone ultimately gets what is coming to them.

Examples?

Not enough Illya!

As I've said, the music does most of the job but the visuals and all of the other things in unison just give off a vibe that's closer to the VN than the Ufotable UBW adaptation. It's hard to explain aside from that, and it's not like I want to dicksuck Deen too much.

Is this some Rick and Morty copypasta that I still don't know?

>all of the other things in unison just give off a vibe that's closer to the VN than the Ufotable UBW adaptation.

?

Honestly? I never watched Tsukihime, or even any other Fate than Zero's (rest is always said to be literal pile of shit, and from all proofs available- that opinnion seems correct). I was made aware that it happens in the same universe as Fate/Tsukihime, but I couldn't give less shit.

Anyways. Just watch it as though it was stand alone thing. Whole lore you need to watch it is scattered across all 7 (8+Ovas) movies. You really do not need any external meta knowledge. You just might find that you need to rewatch the series few times to catch some details based on what you know from rest of the movies, since plot line doesn't follow chronology of the release order. But do watch it in release order IMO, it will make sense. What else to say? It is mildly demanding series to watch, but it does pay off in my opinnion. Just emerge in mystical atmosphere of I, rest should follow (Though climate often changes as the series progresses).

If you really feel it is not for you, then do not force yourself. But I hope you will enjoy it.

I've just explained basic fucking things about the appeal of the anime that most secondaries even get subconsciously when watching the show, no reason for your cynical, half-retarded self to get ticked off that someone is tryng to trick you.

Not him, but while the DEEN anime had a bunch of silly issues, it was amazing at retaining the style of the VN, making sure to mimic the shots from the VN CGs wherever appliable, using remixed VN music in it's OST, and even using the day transition screens for its title cards. Meanwhile, the UBW adaptation went full "reimagine and modernize" mode, and made the mood closer to your average 10s anime than the original VN, with the OST being completely forgettable Hollywood ambience trash.

immerse*

Oh boy. I used to like this series, but Fate fanbase is full of autistic weaboos.

Uhh, thanks for the opinion user. Having said that
>or even any other Fate than Zero's (rest is always said to be literal pile of shit, and from all proofs available- that opinnion seems correct)
You are doing yourself a disservice by not fact-checking these things yourself and falling for the opinions of people who are incredibly uninformed and just spout nonsense. The FSN visual novel is just as good as F/Z, if not better.

The opinion and behavior of the fanbase has nothing to do with the quality of the show itself, you gormless, low-IQ stoner. Don't talk to me again.

Does anyone read the LN/VN anymore?

Great job, user. I'm certain he's crying now because he's such an illiterate that can't understand the magnificence of this series

Fuck off back to F/Zfag

desuarchive.org/r9k/thread/38594077/#38594077

The only part where you should read the LN in Kara no Kyoukai is the 6th novel, because the 6th movie completely fucked up its plot and made it a bunch of Azaka fanservice nonsense. In general, though, the LNs are literally chuuni highschooler drivel, with the movies doing what they could to salvage it with great music and animation.

I wasn't aware there were any LN adaptations of KnK. That's also due to the fact that the Fate fanbase nowadays either shits on Apocrypha (deservedly so I guess) or jerks off to Grand Order, there's nothing else.

>Meanwhile, the UBW adaptation went full "reimagine and modernize" mode, and made the mood closer to your average 10s anime than the original VN, with the OST being completely forgettable Hollywood ambience trash.

What about HF movie?

Maybe I should make change to that statement: From what I heard Starting from Zero it goes from Epoch of fighting over Grail, which I mildly enjoyed (Not even close to my top 10 tho) to multiple fractured series being some sort of your typical action anime with all its qualities, and never even gets close to Zero. And I'm Sup Forums's that faggot guy who tries to watch 2deep4you stuff. And such shows as described just do not really interest me. Thanks for opinnion user, I might check it someday, but I have so much stuff to watch already, that it will be long time if ever.

Fate/zero is the prequel to Fate/stay night. You know that right?

The HF movie does reimagine things, but it's in a far more clever way that's more about making the most of the limited runtime and making sure the audience is endeared to Sakura, as opposed to the VN where HF was full of unreliable narration biased against Sakura that was meant to challenge the reader, but just made many believe she was supposed to be hated.

UBW's adaptation basically changes things for the sake of more flashy visuals and having a typical 2010's aesthetic, while HF's is more about fixing Nasu's mistakes and doing justice to the greatness of Sakura that was originally hidden between the lines.

As for HF's OST, Kajiura makes a return from Zero, so while it's not as great as Kawai's, it definitely comes off as a perfect sequel to Zero, with a dark yet beautiful tone to it.

>Fate route
Saber brushing Ilya's hair and
>"You won't mind if I beat that thing, right?"

>UBW
Berserker breaking Enkidu, dying standing up and refusing to disappear through sheer force of will because Ilya needed him to be strong for her.

>HF
Every single scene with Kotomine and/or Illya, but besides those,
>Sparks Liner High
>Sakura killing Zouken by ripping her own heart out
>Cherry Blossoms Dream

>Zero
The Banquet of Kings
Saber killing Lancelot
Waver staring down Gilgamesh

>HA
I really ought to get around to reading this

Hey, plenty of us are jerking off to Fate/Kalied too

have you read strange fake?

Yes, you can go back to tumblr now.

Fate/Zero's 25 episodes could be edited to 4 movies.

Heaven's Feel is longer yet is only getting 3 movies.

Why is that?

The content of HF has to be censored severely to be shown on TV.

Why is Heaven's Feel only getting 3 movies when it's longer than Fate/Zero? Does it not need more?

3 movies isn't really that bad as long as they're long enough. There is a lot of superfluous stuff in the original VN like Ilya and Rin trying to hijack the route, so competent direction cuts out all of that and just makes it the Sakura-focused story it should be. It's possible they'll make a Realta Nua-based TV series after the movies, though, since UBW got one too after its movie.

>There is a lot of superfluous stuff in the original VN like Ilya and Rin trying to hijack the route,

What's wrong with this?

The heroine is Sakura, not them. Scenes like Ilya and Rin arguing about which one you prefer are just stupid and pointless, considering the answer is obviously neither of them, but Sakura. The director turning Rin into Sakura in the dream scene shows that he knows this and is actively rectifying it.

Yup, that I know.

Issues of pacing and marketing.
Heaven's Feel is LONG and sometimes there's literally hours of reading in between major events. The meme that 75% of the route is cooking scenes is an exaggeration but there's still plenty of fat to be trimmed, and more importantly than the time limits it all has to be presented in a way that keeps the audience entertained. If basically nothing happens in a middle movie people aren't going to be very excited to see the end, no matter what it's promising them.
Asking people to see more than three movies to tell a single story is hard even when the story is written to be a movie. Be happy that they're at least about 2 hours each.

There's nothing wrong with the scenes in the VN, but in a movie format where screentime and pacing are critical, they're distractions from the core narrative that needs to be told.

Not sure about pinnacle of anime thing but it's really good and it had great threads on Sup Forums.
I wish we had more anime with adult characters in fantasy setting.
The porn was good also.

>I wish we had more anime with adult characters in fantasy setting.

Fate/Strange Fake. Takes place after Stay Night.

>pic
Suddenly looking forward to seeing this movie.
It's always nice to see Sakura drawn by someone who remembers she's got an incredible rack.

One of her few objectively great qualities, big tits.

Bluray when?

>8 year old kills his friend using a big knife

>Sup Forums will defend literally anything just to feel special and unique
Old Fate looks like trash, Ufo looks great, have your (you)

>Fate
Sakura going nuts and telling Rin how she really feels
>Zero
Kiritsigu and Saber debate after killing Lancer
>HA
The final fight with everyone fighting together is pure hype

> pretty animation is "the pinnacle of anime"

Between the edgy nihilism, persistent illogical reasoning on the part of like half the cast, and the end-all fact that it's just some hard abstractions on the part of Edgelord Urobuchi himself, it's like a 7~8/10 at best. My biggest issue with it is, as stated, most of the story revolves around the majority of the cast making consistently irrational and/or exceedingly stereotypical decisions, when in truth half of the "problems" they face have really obvious solutions; gotta play those edge/feels/hype cards though; how else are we going to sell a bazillion more Saber figmas? It's not a bad show, and it serves well to extrapolate on the world set up by the original VN, but I almost want to assume you're trolling with your OP. Either that, or you are extremely underexposed, and should probably start watching stuff form sources other than Netflix.

They've been sidelining Sakura in all of the anime adaptions up to this point though; how are they going to suddenly restate her as a prevalent character without it feeling forced?

It's the peak of fateshit.
Which isn't saying much but it's still a good dropoff point from the franchise as nothing gets better than it.

>he hasn't read the VN
Sakura was always hiding on the sidelines in the first two routes. Now that HF finally has an anime, they'll be able to promote her openly without fears of anyone getting spoiled.

> presumptuous accusations
but you can still interact with her though, and there are lots of little hints that she's more deeply involved which are barely in the anime SN/UB stuff, if at all. There are all these little hints and clues that click after you see what she was up to behind the scenes, but that setup's been largely left out of the standing works; presumably because they never thought they'd go beyond the basic SN story so they trimmed it for time. Now they've not got the groundwork for a seamless HF tie in.

The prologue of the movie gathers all those little subtle details and makes them blatant this time around.

> quick, put in all that stuff we left out because we need it now
I mean it's being written and directed by the Mirai Fukuin boys, so really between that and general lack-luster state of Ufo, I'm not super confident in this. One of my personal qualms is that Sakura's been largely ignored up to this point, but now they're doing in in what I would very much consider a low-point in their record. Urobuchi isn't attached though, so maybe there's some hope.

> What about HF movie?
vimeo.com/252678222
Apparently the full song of this is at the start of the movie. Better than UBW trash anyway.

Its overrated
