Notably, El Grande Padre never said what happens if there's a sudden death situation. My current speculation is that 17/Freeza/Toppo will all get knocked out, maybe weakening Jiren in the process. Goku and Vegeta fuse because fanservice and unlock a new form (UI blue or some gay shit). However, since Vegito and Jiren are evenly matched, the tournament goes into overtime. El Grande Padre announces that they have X amount of time before both universes will be erased unless one of them yields.

Then either:

1. Jiren will yield for JUSTICE and U7 wishes back U6 to collect the super dragon balls or just to bring back everyone from all the dead universes into U7.

2. Goku and Vegeta shockingly yield for the greater good after learning what Jiren's wish is, Jiren instead wishes to bring everyone back after seeing them swallow their pride.

Vegeta and Toppo ends with a draw. Same for UI Goku and Jiren. Everyone, meanwhile, forgot about Freeza left unconscious. He wins the tournament.

I dont know why people are even still discussing this. It's obviously set up so the last remaining fighters are Goku, Jiren and unconscious Frieza giving U7 the win by timeout

But in fact, instead of recreating all the universes, integrating them all into one sole universe would really make Goku happy. And Vegeta too, because frankly it's a bit of a shame that he has not yet been able to make a trip to Cabba planet.

Goku should beat Jiren. He hasn't pulled off a victory in classic Goku fashion once in this entire series.

But he won't wish everybody back. The wish is something entirely outside his interest. Vegeta will ask "order" him to bring back Cabba and the others, if not their whole universe. Goku will agree, because (1) he doesn't really care, so he'd be happy to let Vegeta have the wish, and (2) he wants to fight Hit and train Kefla.

Goku lost to Beerus, but since there was no substantial damage done to the earth, they didn't undo the damage. Fuck all those planets that blew up, though.
Nearly every other fight ended in divine intervention, except with Hit. But, that was another fight where there was no damage caused.
