How do people not get Slaine? I feel like I've had enough lofty aspirations and goals, but hit failure enough times, to get Slaine. Is it just the lack of some of the above?

Which character do you think guys would like more? The characters had an almost non-existent rivalry in the show but they are opposites and people felt like if you like one you have to hate the other.

For some reason people see Slaine as weak even though he shoots Trillram in episode 3, fights alone and gets trough torture without whining. Season 2 Slaine becomes great because he's more careful and ruthless, but still cares about the people around him to hate the actions he has to make.

I really don't know. Slaine? Inaho was too boring and not in an entertaining over the top way either.

He's the opposite of Shinji because he nearly suicidaly throws himself into danger all the time for the sake of one girl, Shinji had a sense of self-preservation and would get upset and argue with others.

Slaine argued with others using his gun.

When he forced Saazbaum into helping him? He shoots Trillram because he's a threat, he shoots Inaho because Inaho ignores his warnings and points a gun at him.

He should have been in a better show, but he was completely outmatched and overshadowed by one of the biggest Gary Stus in recent years.

The only OVA Slaine would ever get would involve him getting whipped, and spat on while Hime enjoys a fancy meal and party while occasionally thinking about that guy she threw under the bus

Using Slaine as a scapegoat for the entire rebellion makes me mad as fuck to this day.
