I actually kind of like meiling. She turned out to be a very likeable character after she began friends with the others. Its probably for the best that she didnt marry her cousin anyway. Come to think of it there is way too many cousin romances in this anime, yet they all all failed thankfully.

I think it's better than the Star staff's transformation sequence. I really disliked the Star staff's after having gotten used to the original scene. Animation being worse is a played out conversation. Read manga if you don't like it.
