and also the fact that they're just kids running around and having fun. anzu and makoto are my favorites. i think nao, kei, and kei's family are more-accepting of the witch thing because they're hicks who are more prone to be naive and even "uncorrupted." if it were most city folk, i think they would freak out a little, so the setting works and is nice, too

Chinatsu feels like an actual child. Her characterization is very well done.

It's nice having a comfy SoL show with magic. Shows like LWA and Magus bride are occasionally comfy but tend to focus more on conflict and action. My favorite part of any show is the world building in the first 2 - 3 episodes.

Strange to say, but I love the fact that it was just a very good-hearted, gentle, supernatural slice of life. Nothing ever really happened. There was no antagonist, no goal, no character arcs, no action.

Sometimes I really get sick of shows where every episode is life-or-death drama and the entire world is at stake and something horrible could happen to a character in whom you're emotionally invested. My real life is hard enough -- I don't need this kind of stress about something make-believe.
