Do you count continuation animes like Fafner and Dragon ball as different series? What about OVA's that tend to be about 6 episodes long do you count those as one full series? What about recap/remake movies are those counted as full series for this as well?

Given how many anons claim to watch only a handful of series per season, they may have been watching anime for 10 years and still have less than 500 series completed.

I do this a lot too. Usually only watch one or two a season, but spend most of my time watching older series. I'm also too dumb for multitasking I guess and prefer to watch one at a time rather than a bunch concurrently.

Some series are very long. One Piece is 824 episodes, about 330 hours. So while I've only seen around 300 series the time watched seems much higher than that because I watched a lot of stupidly long shows.
It's really not that hard to watch 100 different series if you've been watching anime for a few years. Shit adds up fast.
