What was the most embarassingly short run in jump before getting the axe?
Shortest stay in shonen jump
>15 chapters
I'm pretty sure there are stuff that only got one volume by being in Shounen Jump.
This will be one of the most embarassingly short thread in Sup Forums before getting 404'd
Ore Golazo only made it to 12 chapters despite not even being that bad.
Fuck Jump for sucking Tsubasa’s dick this hard.
What was that one cyborg manga that got HUGE hype from the editors called?
I think it didnt really survive 4 issues.
I was really getting into this and then it got axed. I'm still fucking mad.
>embarassingly
>r
Nothing embarrassing about not winning a popularity contest when it's set-up in a way in which there's always a loser in a children's magazine.
Oh come on, don’t remind me
Never heard of it, what's it about?
...
Buddy Strike, it literally got one volume, at least Red Sprite got two.
>Thing called the Demon Plan gives people special powers
>They end up competing against one another until only one is left.
>Only people chosen by the Demon Plan are given the powers.
>MC's best friend gets some OP ability
>Turns evil
>Wants to rule over humans
>MC also gets an OP ability
>Seeks out his best friend to bring him back
>Along the way he's hunted by other people chosen by the Demon Plan
>He makes new friends with powers along the way and they team up to help the MC on his quest.
It was basic generic shounen stuff, but I love stuff like that.
Cyborg Roggy got HUGE pre-release hype because it was by some genius wunderkind mangaka the editors were convinced would shake up the scene despite being 17 years old.
It just fizzled out, I cant even remember if I had read any scanlations of it.
Chagecha. Only got 8 chapters
>bobobo spinoff
>168222221
This post is so close. So close
I miss Double Arts
...
More like double farts
How long did Shuudan! run for? It doesn't even seem like it made it six months though that's less due to quality and more due to Takuma's stuff not being a good fit for WSJ.
...
Gonna nominate this even though it wasn't in Jump
Only 1 (one) chapter was published before it died
Hard to worse
Unless there's some kind of controversy or something like the author getting sick three weeks after the series starts, I don't think Jump ever axes a series before 8 chapters. Changecha is probably the shortest series to be canned for its lack of popularity
Hummm
That manga about the pink haired robot
We didn't even get the first rank yet.
>people actually said Neverland would get axed while Red Sprite would sell big bucks
E-Robot I didn't read that but I did read Love Rush! The second series by the same Mangaka that only made it to two volumes as well
It gots 4 volumes and a timeskip ending.
Should I read demon plan just for this girl?
I really like her design.
Tokyo Wonder Boys only lasted one volume.
And then the artist followed it up with the garbage known as Cross Account (which actually somehow got 4 volumes).
you`re really desperate
I am spending my time on Sup Forums, of course I am desperate.
To add to this the demon plan thingy was basically a highlander battle royale.
what happened?
Hisasi stopped doing it. Hiatus.
Soccer manga with art of Cross Account guy also got only 1 volume.
She’s not from demon plan. She’s from Red Sprite and she barely appear there. It was clear the mangaka had some plans for her (calling her Fall despite able to pilot an airship), but the manga got shot down heh before it could go anywhere
His second series didn't do well either.
The super long first chapter to hype the series meant to hype the series started the downfall.
I think what ultimately killed these series is the fact the author decided to do next big shonen all of a sudden and did a long-ass filler arc about the village or something pretty much straight away.
I also laugh every time when I remember the chapter where they introduce like 5 villains but then this shit got axed and oh boy i guess THE ADVENTURE ISN'T OVER YET!.. so we'll just sweep them under the rug and pretend it never happened.
Any old version of this?
Hinomaru seems to be the 30000 club president
Oh hey, its Kaito.
His current manga is having more success so thats good.
Good first chapter, it could grain traction with Yuuna seems to be really popular at the moment, I hope they'll continue it someday.
Well at least Bokuben and Stone managed to escape the sumo club. I honestly don't think Spring Weapon even makes nearly enough sales to be in sumo club.
It will survive because it has a cute muscle shota.
Didn't Hori's original series before BHA last like 12 chapters?
Shame, I liked that we had a spear hero for once
I think it'll survive because it's sci-fi which Jump severely lacks. And they haven't quite pulled out all the battle shonen cliches yet. We don't have an edgelord rival.
An edgy rival is fine as long as he is also a cute muscle shota.
His first two series died quick deaths. Hero Academia was the first one he's done to catch on.
His crazy zoo manga lasted around 37 chapters, then Barrage/Bulge lasted for
just 16
>Monks fighting demons with gatling guns
I really hope it continues.
Fuck you Jump, I liked Akaboshi: Ibun Suikoden.
Ole Golazo
That manga made by the Durarara author
Double Arts
> Medaka Box
> 4 years
How?
There was that one manga that was going to be a Jojo/Hunter X Hunter-style battle between various ability users and the main lead's ability was just to punch really hard. He looked like a dead ringer for ToAru Index's Kamijou Touma too with his ultra-spiky hair. Can't really recall the title though.
MxO
literally pissed off now that i remember
Not the shortest, but easily the worst.
what horrible art
It was fucking awful though. It was badly cliched, had poorly written characters, and the art was subpar on top. It flopped for a reason and people were making fun of how bad it was all through its short run.
That romance/harem/monstergirl manga that tried to compete with monmusu
Not the shortest but god did it hurt to find out it died. A unique concept with neat characters and an interesting plot killed off and replaced with a generic harem story
Hot bitches and the dude with the giant screw.
The only reason it died if I recall was the editor of the magazine that it appeared in thought it would be a good idea to END all of their long running works and make everyone make a new manga to replace them.
...
Well....I liked it. I did say I'm into generic cliche shounen anime. Call it a guilty pleasure of mine, even if the majority think it's trash.
Shame, the girl is cute.
that was the best girl tho
I recall a series with a Cowboy setting, but I don't remember the name. I think it got twelve chapters.
It had a decent run, about 8 volumes. I'm just posting it because I miss it.
Gun Blaze West?
...
If anything MB went on for way to long. Iirc the author kept pulling out like every trick and gimmick he could for keeping it running and by the end it was basically completely unrecognizable from where its premise started.
That's the one
It's hard to decide whether it was rushed, stretched or canned, considering how meta the whole thing was.
They even pulled the whole "Jump manga starts as a comedy SoL and evolves into a fighting manga".
Poor Watsuki. Everything he 8made other than Kenshin got canned to the point where he had to drag kenshin out of its grave just to keep making something, only to turn around and get busted for child porn.
Wasnt this Fairy Tail 2.0 even before Black Clover was Fairy Tail 2.0?
is that genderswap about Marie Antoinette still around?
that disappeared pretty quick
I think that was kind of the point.
nah, Hungry Marie (think that was the name) got cut a while ago
It was worse than both, at least Black Clover has a couple of likeable characters carrying it and some fun fights. And Fairy Tail had tits(Spoilers; Black Clover also has tits). I don't think Demon's Plan had anything going for it, except for maybe the friendship between the main character and his best friend but that was promptly thrown away in chapter 2 lmao.
Why though?
No one but me gives two shits but Ill always be mad at Tail Star. The end chapters werent even scanlated.
Bozebeats and Golem farts both are typical manga that get the axe.
That looks interesting. What was it about?
How did it end anyways?
lol remember when people thought this shit was going to be the next attack on titan?
>U-19
>has less than 19 chapters
All part of the plan.
The KND that couldn't be.
Alien world ruled by twin queens/goddesses of light and darkness. Dark queen decided to take over and waged war on the light half and light queen died. Light sides numbers get greatly dimished and the light goddess is reborn among them. The series is about the mc and his tribe on the run from the dark queen's "tail stars" as they protect his childhood friend until she comes of age and awakens her powers.
Tail stars are basically superhumans with a superpower in the form of different tails attached to them.
I do
Anyone read Ultra battle satellite?
Simple adventure. World is divided between two queens, Dark queen (that flat spider loli) grows jealous and just nukes the shit out of the light side before the new light queen is born. So protagonist escapes with the 6 year old light queen and starts training to kill the Dark Queen. To do so he has to defeat the "comets" the queen army who has tails on their heads and are strong as fuck, so he becomes a "Tail hunter" who fights with axes. Basically Eren 2.0.
But the tail designs were fucking great and you could feel the tensions since the protagonists were always THIS close of death and always running for their lives.
Man, I didn't even hear about it. Shame it got axed, it looked good enough.
No clue. The last scans we got have Mayu all grown up, Sanagi and the good tail dude fighting against some bikers or something. Doubt it was a satisfying ending given how many characters there were, this was obviously a set up for a long series.
I downloaded the artbook long ago, fucking loved the designs for the nine comets.
I really liked this one for some reason, but i distinctly remember thinking the one shot was better.
This was just a Giga miniseries
Not a real series
I remember when this shit got serialized. This is still the worst manga I've ever read.
This got canned?
What the fuck?
I was going to go back and continue it.
Sounds pretty pretty good, honestly. Looks great too. It definitely had potential to be big. Shame it got axed, real shame.
>Author knows he's getting axed (Everyone knows he's getting axed).
>Starts rushing to dump as much of the plot and characters he had ideas for as fast as he can.
>The villains master plan behind the entire value system and newer physical ranking was to make 10/10 teens have awkward sweaty sex and produce an eventual army of super soldiers with perfect genes so Japan can wage war on the rest of the world because their party leader is still butthurt over world war II.
I still remember the threads laughing at the idea of "perfect" soldier coming from Japanese genetics.
The artist for that also did hentai, of the "too pretty to fap to it" kind. And another manga called "Cloth Road" whIch I havent actually tried, about people fighting with designer clothes.
