It's Umibe no Onnanoko and you can go to hell for insulting Azumanga I'd give anything for more chapters. Hell I'd happily erase Yotsubato from existence if it meant more chapters.

I should do a manga one. I keep delaying it because I don't think I've read enough.

Like a general skill everyone should try to follow? Not at all.
I like it when people try to put some artistry into their charts though. Obviously I tried to organize my rows by colour, so white on the top row, orange/red in the middle, and then it falls apart on the bottom row but whatever. I should find another picture for Eva, it's too white. If the bottom row was just 3 seperate colours that weren't red or white I'd be satisfied with the composition.
I can also imagine doing stuff like having the pictures only show 1 character each, or all pictures include 2 characters, or no characters, stuff like that. In general I just like to think everyone puts a lot of autistic behind-the-scenes touches into their 3x3 without worrying about whether anyone else will notice or appreciate them.

Nice to see the flaps and the potatoes here. I am actually really tempted to add GLT on my 3x3 because it had so much impact on me for some reason. Watched Euphonium last week and enjoyed the focus on the orchestra, while not really caring much for the drama around the characters and ending up actually despising Shuichi for being such a bland fuck. So much Ping Pong in the thread, naisu.

Same, when I'm in the right mood and watch it is just legitimately the most perfect experience imaginable and feels tailor-made to me as an individual.
My anime sin is that I still haven't finished watching GLT. I've realised that I only fully appreciate it when I'm the right mindset, typically after a long, exhausting, frustrating day of work, so I only watch an episode when I feel ready to. Last episode I saw was about two weeks ago in which they get drunk, that was good.
Despite that, I just can't bring myself to rank another show above it to bump it out of my top 9.

It's all good. I found that in the entire series, only 1 episode out of 12 didn't feel that right to me, the rest gave me this ominous feeling most shows just don't manage to give off. You should really read the manga, too. tkmiz is fantastic, despite being a lost soul weird fuck.

I plan on reading it once I finish the anime, since from what I hear it just ended or is about to end, and there definitely isn't enough material for a second season.
I've read a tkmiz Touhou doujin before. They're certainly a unique artist with a very distinct style, and I'm not just talking in terms of visuals.

It ended 2 months ago, and it hurt. I, too, want to die like Flandre does.

Isn't the point that you can look at a 3x3 and extrapolate from the shows you've seen in it to determine if you would like the others? It's the closest thing on Sup Forums to a rec thread, really.

25 is significantly more than 9. I had trouble enough just getting my list up to 9.

9/12 anyway, although a lot of these are shows I should have watched by now if I knew how to manage my time better. The me a couple months from now hopefully will likely give this a much high score.

How does the rating system work? I assume it's "series I liked/series I watched".

That's correct. Also, people will sometimes follow the score with + or - marks indicating the titles that they liked and disliked.

Unfortunately my manga list is rather lacking in comparison; I haven't got quite the needed attention span to do much serious manga reading, though I have a couple of entries in queue.

I thought the references to religion and philosophy were too heavy handed, and the characters didn't feel well developed.
The CGI wasn't even the only problem with the visuals, as the hand-drawn scenes looked bad too.

Fair enough. You'd probably have an aneurysm with the manga then.

I at least like the artstyle more in the manga.

I think Ichikawa makes it way too carefree and it lacks plenty of details in more pages than desired, but I think the setting does look cooler in the manga. In general, the character design is nice too.

I do dig the manga making all sorts of interesting chiaroscuro techniques in monochrome, but I also like how the anime gave the sort of vibrant colours that one would expect in such a world.

Also I don't know about 'heavy-handed' but I don't think the themes are presented straightforwardly as one would think—of course a second season covering the later manga chapters would help clear that a bit.
