well, it sounds like the kind of trash netflix would fund
Well, it sounds like the kind of trash netflix would fund
it sounds more like they just gave up on doing it, "let nips handle it"
"I recently sold “SAO” (Sword Art Online) to Netflix," she said, "and part of the agreement was that Kitty Cat Asuna would remain Asian." (Note: Kalogridis most likely said "Kirito and Asuna.")
>Kitty Cat Asuna
what the fuck
It was for apparently in response to a question from some something called the Philippine Daily Inquirer. I have two hypothesis: it was either a written response to said newspaper or whatever it is and there was an autocorrect typo involved, or the response was rewritten by the newspaper and their own autocorrect fucked up (or they just didn't understand she said "Kirito and Asuna" because they're from the fucking phillipines and might've heard wrong).
Either that, or producer Laeta Kalogridis happens to love the characters so much that she has her own cute nicknames for them.
The funny thing is, if this comes out in the west, everyone will just say this is the Japanese rip-off of "Ready Player One". I can't wait, it's either going to be a great production or an absolute trainwreck, and looking at Netflix's past "adaptations" of anime I'm willing to bet it's the latter
Either way its going to be a fun ride.
>complain about ScarJo with GiTS
>get this shit
Asuna should be portrayed by a white girl, getting banged by an Asian guy.
Ready Player One was shit. Everything ripped off Neuromancer.
>live action anime
>sword art online
It's like they're trying to make the worst movie ever
I honest to god thought they were going to make Kirito partially mexican or black (nerdy black) and Asuna was going to be asian
>Movie
its going to be a Netflix series
>Asian Lead Actors
DOA. Everyone knows asians can't act.
Kawahara is swimming on money
>Asians can't act
Native Asians? Sure.
Asian-Americans? They actually can act.
>W-we did it...?
Fuck that.
Most people are already calling RPO an American SAO ripoff though
NONONONONO
SAO would benefit most from not adhering to its source material though
In order to be true to the source material, they should have western actors and digitally impose Japanese faces onto them.
I heard that most of his money ends up going to taxes, and he lives in a shitty apartment stuffed full of SAO merch.
Wait really
Yeah, from a semi-reliable source.
He's "losing 55% of his income to tax "returns""
