Hey, doesn't matter if our childhood friend is going to be turned into soylent green, come with me to the ceremony...

>Hey, doesn't matter if our childhood friend is going to be turned into soylent green, come with me to the ceremony, TEH HEE~

Holy fuck, Ichigo deserves everything that is coming to her, good riddance.

>Hey, I know you're super depressed over not being able to graduate, but you better show up for the graduation.

Where was he even supposed to be in that? The only seats were for adults and APE holograms. Was he just supposed to sit all alone in a corner, or worse, stand with them without a partner?

>why do cultists buy into cult lies

I told you fuckers: all Ichigo cares about is having Hiro by her side. Everything else be damned. Not whether he can fly or not, not whether their friends live or not, not whether the world burns: as long as Hiro is by her side, Ichigo is fine. She's a fucking Jorougumo.

>slacker
>he's actually the one training the most
The gal on this this cunt.

Thanks for writing this show for A1 cause god knows they can't

>I can't read between the lines or parse information that isn't spoonfed to me
You're the reason why exposition dumps are a thing in film and anime.
Kill yourself retard.

Nah, you're the reason why garbage shows with terrible plot get popular. Read a book sometimes, watch a good movie, challenge yourself with something worth the challenge instead of filling the gaps of terrible anime with fanfiction.

I probably read more books in a year than you did in your lifetime so far. Take that guy's advice and go hang. DITF is good.

If you read something actually good you'd have an idea of what subtext and proper storytelling is, but you like DITF so you probably read vapid YA trash.

Instead of recommending an anime on an anime imageboard, you instead resorted to deflecting to other forms of media. Better yet, you lacked the self-confidence to even name any specific titles.

80% of what I read is non-fiction. The last book I read (finished it last Tuesday) was "Opposition to Louis XIV: The Political and Social Origins of French Enlightenment" by Lionel Rothkrug. The last fiction book I read is the Heliand, in Old Saxon, which I finished last summer.

What's the last book you read, faggot?

NGE
Don Quixote
Lobster
Not all deal with similar issues as DitF but all are rather fucking entry level works that are infinitely better written than this fucking show.

You're taking the bait really fucking hard. Considering they're using the term subtext and then calling subtext and interpretation "fanfiction" you should have clocked that it's bait.

Show me the scene where she turned into soylent green. Also, Naomi isnt their childhood friend. Being in the same school or training facility doesnt automatically make you friends.

>the absolute state of this thread

And yes, in case you're wondering, I am a """crossboarder""" here for DITF. I mainly browse, /sci/, /lit/, and dump pictures on /c/.

Almost all "bait" is just dumb people saying stupid shit. It's good to take pity on them and tear them a new asshole from time to time. Maybe they learn something from it.

>Almost all "bait" is just dumb people saying stupid shit. It's good to take pity on them and tear them a new asshole from time to time. Maybe they learn something from it.

I sometimes respond to bait, but not for the sake of the baiter, but for all the impressionable kids that are reading their shit and might actually believe the crap they're reading. Call me moralistic or whatever but I like to think I'm doing my small part for the cause of"maybe stopping someone becoming an insufferable dumbass"

For non-fiction I've read Syd Field's book on screenplay, for fiction a Kafka anthology with the Castle and Amerika but I also could've named any fucking book you mongoloid. Maybe you're just hopeless and no amount of reading will help you understand that DitF is in no way better written than average anime garbage and that you can assume something doesn't always mean it's there you absolute mouthbreather.

Cringe

>I've read Syd Field's book on screenplay, for fiction a Kafka anthology
Both wasted on you, no doubt.

>implying kafka is impressive in the 21st century

Literature has moved on, if you were at least a half decent pseudo you'd have said infinite jest.

>trust me guys, these metaphors for children having sex are DEEP

Cringe.

The irony is overwhelming when it comes from idiots that would make shit up to defend craptastic in a garbage cartoon made to make your dick hard and sell figures.

Try harder

Who said anything about "depth"? You're not even watching the series, are you?

>implying it has to be deep to be well executed and written

The pacing is on point, the dialogue is quirky has a good tempo to it and flows very well and naturally. The visuals and use of symbolism are solid, often carrying potential double meanings which keep the mystery of the show strong (which is part of why it's so alluring)

But nah, it's all about DEEP

>it's yet another Ichigo hate thread

Not my fault you're only aware of the most entry level /lit/

Ok so it is cheap smut instead. Gotcha.

Reminder that Ichigo doesn't actually love hiro

>this robot cartoon is good
>no, it's bad!
>no, it's good!
>let's solve this by dick-measuring all the literature we've read
This argument is the dumbest shit I've seen since that one "I work at MIT so your opinion is wrong" faggot in the Subete ga F threads.

So no current airing anime? Why are you even here?

No arguments for why it's bad were actually provided and we were invited to "read some books" instead.

>the pacing is on point
I'll give you that Nishigoro is rather competent director
>dialogue is quirky has a good tempo to it and flows very well and naturally
it's been nothing but same old shit you see everywhere. What quirky dialogue, where? You mean that time the punk bitch kid went "Hiro you're shit and I'll beat you" and Hiro replied "Nuh-uh"? Are you talking about that time one kid went "do you not know what kissing is" and he got flustered and replied "of course I know". There's nothing remarkable about any of the characters in this show or their dialogue.
>The visuals and use of symbolism are solid
Yeah the designs and presentation of the show are pretty good aside from monsters but symbolism is really hamfisted with how blatantly they shove it viewer's face. As to how it keeps the mystery strong I have no idea cause at no point I could care even a little about anything that's going on cause the show sucks at establishing anything at all. What do adults do? Why is everyone leaving in roombas? Why are there dinosaurs around? What is anyone even planning to do? Why should I care about any of these empty cardboard characters? It's been almost two hours already and they did a piss poor job of establishing anything in that time but at least we got a bunch of asses to look.

It's very reminiscent of 富野語 imo it's not quite there, but it's similar. It doesn't translate often at all though. Even Tomino himself doesn't write in such a way that it translates all the time.

oh and half of the stuff you said "they've sucked at establishing" are some of the mysteries, the questions the show wants to leave open.

>Hey, doesn't matter if our childhood friend is going to be turned into soylent green, I don't want YOU turned in to soylent green too, so come with me to the ceremony

I don't agree, even though they are technically a mystery cause you know next to nothing about they are still done too poorly for it to be a positive quality. To make a viewer care about the mystery you must give them at least something to actually elicit wonder and grasp onto as you unravel it bit by bit along with the viewer/reader. Look at how Urasawa does it, he introduces you to the main character, who they are, what they do and it's usually someone who you can sympathize it, a single father, a doctor who's values human life equally despite pressure from authorities and so on. Then something unusual happens that leads them onto the path of finding out what's going on and who's behind it.

FranXX introduces you to Hiro an anime guy #4353 who's shy and depressed cause he can't fulfill his life's goal of being a mech pilot and is bummed about it but gets into the robot within the first episode and does it two more times within first 2 hours. For conflict I guess dinosaur attack counts since it's what leads him to be a pilot. It's also never established just how much characters know about their world, maybe some of what you'd count is a mystery is not something to be revealed at all cause everyone in the show already knows about it. They also don't really ask any questions which could've clued the viewer in on what the show considers to be an actual mystery and what you will just have to take for granted and won't potentially will never be explained. The show itself did a fine job of it when they had one kid ask if any of the pilots became an adult so now I can actually look forward to getting to know the reason behind it. I'd assume if they went out of their way to deliberately tell you this they should do the same with everything else instead of just assuming that the viewer will be invested into knowing something just cause he saw it. It's really not "oh you want everything to be chewed up and fed to you" case cause there is nothing to chew on DitF.

well yeah, we kind of knew that since the "kiss" scene.

It might not have been decreed by the higher-ups that he had to be there.

The only questionable things Ichigo has done has been prioritizing Hiro all the time, which we know why she does. These threads are just autistic waifu shitflinging.

Those fucking guys. Everytime I read such ignorant statements, I imagine some self-absorbed little shit just fresh out of highschool were they were "The smartest kid in the class" not getting a hint about how different perspectives and intellects may vary in their interpretation and understanding of art. The show is good to me and many others, and I don't even care for anime-gurls and waifu-wars. No shit that it's not the deepest anime in existence, probably not even in the top 50. But its so well executed, that every metaphor and intended meaning can be understood if you just watch for them and their context carefully. The direction is the best I've seen in this season, the dialogue IS good, especially at incorporating silence to give gravity to important points in characterization. The plot is intriguing and unravels in a comfy pace. There had been many instances the pacing of the show could've failed to deliver. For example, the getting the MC into the fucking robot part. But it didn't. It was always satisfying. The conflicts so far are dealt with according to their priorities. For example: Ichigos lingering feelings of envy and love for hiro aren't that important to solve to the characters themselves, but we can see how they affect her position as a leader accordingly.

I find the mysteries very intriguing so far. We know just enough about the society to see that it's fucked up and in what ways it is fucked up, but not enough to deduct the details and reasons for the current state of it yet. We experience it through the eyes of the parasites who are to busy fighting for their lives to care more about it, assuming that they were already told that it does not concern them and they shouldn't ask, they have to make do with what they can.

It's intriguing and we don't know enough yet to completely disregard our suspension of disbelief. If the explanations turn out to be bullshit, I'll change my views accordingly.

>The season starts with Ichigo demanding Hiro show up to be metaphorically cucked
>Ichigo is then consequently cucked by Hiro for the rest of the entire series

Whew.

This is worse than the spider threads.

Ichigo deserves all the hate she's getting.

You're full of shit buddy

Nice counterargument faggot
Not him btw

For a nice counter argument to happen there needs to be a proper argument in the first place, suck my dick homo
Not him btw

>Read a book sometimes, watch a good movie
>implying those are good

Hiro strangling Ichigo when?

Yeah, I guess fearing death by mechasaurus is a good reason. TY.

holy shit

yeah im gonna need a source for that

He shows up to pay his respects to papa for allowing him to stay and beg him and the council for a new partner on his hands and knees.

Wtf Ichigo?!!!!

>blue cum dripping from his nose and mouth
Looks like 02 couldnt control herself and ended up raping his mouth and his boipucci.

Didn't watch the livestream, what happened?

Floweranon was right.

Next episode the nines are all going to take turns with 02.

Everything

Mook squad actually competent, outmatched by the cube but didn't die.
Hiro died, saw Naomi (yeah she ded), then got better. 3rd impact started.
Mitsuru's smile restored.
LOVE AND FAITHFULNESS

Also fag squad incoming.

>Hiro died, then got better
What?

He got better

Got too many cancer bulges and keeled over. Then he sucked that shit back in like a fatass sucking in his gut and hugged his waifu.

Power of love/floweranon BTFO'd all the other retarded theories.

Wtf I love Ichigo now.
