>Supporting NVMAD like a cunt

Well at least it wasn't as bad as Death Note

Why is a nip playing a whiteman?

>Why is everyone Japanese?
Don't be retarded

I enjoyed it a lot.

I don't know, why do all those white people speak only fluent Japanese in it?

>Netflix made FMA live action
>they allowed nips to do all the work

user do you really want either A) Whatever crappy British/American expatriate they can dig up or B) Hollywood getting involved in an anime adaptation?

Why did they yellowwash this movie.

It's an entirely Japanese production like anime, except with some funding from Netflix to get timed streaming exclusivity

This was better user

.
Do you not remember Shin Gojira man? The caliber of the paleface actor in Japan is not an astounding one.

the Japanese are beyond retarded. that kid is supposed to be white. an asian with blonde hair just looks like a transvestite

The entire cast is supposed to be white user, with like two brown dudes and four chinks. If they went by that logic they would have to hire every German person in the country.

Yeah, casting japanese for this movie is like casting americans for Akira. Just doesn't fit.

The Gintama live action cast was too perfect. This dude was literally born to be Katsura.

I want to drop it not even 10 minutes in.

>Netflix made
Good one

Sup Forums bs aside, is this actually any good? thinking of giving it a watch

>Sup Forums bs
How so?

The best explanation is to watch Takashi Miike's greatest film Sukiyaki Western Django

Is there subbed to watch anywhere?

Currently watching it, was this a theatrical release? I feel it's like a made for TV film. Also in my opinion they try to match the energy in the anime and it just comes off awkward. Energy I mean when a character does a chibi face or how two characters argue and make funny faces. It doesn't translate right for live action. Another thing, why didn't they use the anime soundtrack?

Oh, was that one any good? I never did finish the manga, I should catch up.

Netflix didn't make shit you ignorant stooge. How is Sup Forums this fucking ignorant about anime?

>Live action movie
>Anime

All "b" acting at best.

Most people with a shred of intelligence wouldn't be wasting their time on Sup Forums

>when a character does a chibi face or how two characters argue and make funny faces. It doesn't translate right for live action
I thought it was the norm for Live Actions to be like this, along with the ugly wigs and cheap cosplay.

Last anime adaptation I saw was the death note and I don't remember them doing it. And I thought back then that one was good

Every time I see Asians playing white men it just looks so fake and ruins the immersion. It looks like a fricken Asian dude wearing some Edward elric cosplay, a wig, etc. It doesn't look authentic. They should have gotten an actual blond haired white guy with long hair and tie it in a pony tail.

Pic related is how I see this

Kissasian.ch

God damn seeing live adaptations of shit makes me realize just how far away anime characters look from Japanese. I know FMA are European characters but still this goes for all live actions compared to the source. It’s really fucking eerie

>kiss asian
race traitor

I had to stop. I lost interest, if the nips can't pull it off, neither will Hollywood. Let's leave the medium alone. That being said, our last hope is battle angel... But they already fucked up by giving alita huge fucking eyes.

I couldn't watch more than 30 minutes, same problems with all this japanese live action adaptations: cheesy acting and mediocre SFX.

How does it compare to pic related?

There are good live action manga adaptations, but the problem is they keep trying to adapt shonen shit that barely even works in anime form.

Why do the Japanese put so much effort into their animation but every 3DPD show they make looks like a pornographic film?

>Takashi Miike's greatest film
that would be Visitor Q
it's pretty bad. It has Quentin Tarantino doing a cameo and the whole movie feels like a mediocre attempt at making a Tarantino movie.

I'll agree with that. I think koe no katachi can be adapted if done right. I think the main problem is the whole "magic" aspect of it that doesn't translate well to live action

Visitors Q? You sure you don't mean Happiness of the Katakuris?

How bad could it be?

What am I even looking at? Miike has too many damn movies. Is it actually good or is it ironic good?

probably because they make their live action movies on the same budget as their animated ones.

>nips can't do anime live action right
>whites can't do anime live action right
>nip/white collaborative efforts can't do live action anime right
I think its time we just stop

>they already fucked up by giving alita huge fucking eyes
I like the eyes...

Japanese live action anime adaptions happen all of the time. Nobody cared when the Shingeki no Kyojin movie came out. I don't understand why everyone is making such a big deal about this one.

Why is Tarantino in a cameo? Is he a fan?

They don't look like white people either. We have big fucking noses unless we get nose jobs (or are blessed by the gods, but mostly nose jobs).

>Ghost in the Shell and Death Note films made in the west
>FMA film made in the east

So, is this is the moment where we realize we're living in the bizarro version of the universe when up is down and Trump is president?

Why whenever Japan makes a live action anime movie, all the actors are generic same face japanese people? It makes the film seem like it was made in someone's backyard with a handful of people. Unprofessional.

Miike and Tarantino are fans of each others work and I guess friends or something. Tarantino is pretty damn cringey in the few minutes he's in it. youtu.be/-81VrzGAlkQ
I completely forgot about the terrible engrish

Was the Ghost in the Shell movie really that bad?

The eyes look awful, but it would make sense if she is mostly cyborg I guess...I am pretty sure humans would want to make something machine distinguishable from other humans. (but you would think they would try to do it in a way that didn't hit uncanny valley creepy)

Tarantino loves all that edgy late 90s early 2000s Jap shit. We're talking about a guy whose favorite movie is Battle Royale here.

I can't make it past that engrish, followed by Tarantino speaking in authentic western. These are two worlds that shouldn't have collided

It doesn't bother me and I dont see what the big deal is. It's a little jarring at first but i'm sure in the actual movie you'll forget about it 30 minutes in. People were talking about the uncanny valley when Avatar came out and Alita is using the same technology. I just hope that it won't keep people from seeing it, most of the reactions were about how creepy it was and "why anime eyes don't work in live action"

>whites can't do anime live action right
>implying

he starts out speaking like a cowboy and then he does some weird gibberish accent while speaking poetry or something. I thought he was trying to speak Japanese at first. It's really hard to watch.

I won't be seeing it because its a Robert Rodriguez movie instead of the James Cameron passion project it was supposed to be

thats a legit reason. I kind of feel the same way. Cameron is still producing it though so i'm gonna see it, just not on opening night

a)budget, esp CGI budget
b)idols squeezed into casts instead of decent actors
c)movie producers and directors look down on manga (and/or entertainment films) and they are doing it just for the money grab / career development so they can make SIRIASU films later on
d) time spent on filming/editing

>All you need is kill
>anime

WTF IS WRONG WITH HER EYES???

the score so far is America gets one point for tom cruise death montage. Japan gets 3 points for kenshin. Japan gets -1 for death note. America gets rode out of town on a rail for death note

gonna ask again in a more lively thread.

Is this based on 03 or brother hood? Drooped brotherhood back in the day since what they re-adapted from 03 fucking blew balls. When in brotherhood does it stop re-adapting 03's stuff?

>When in brotherhood does it stop re-adapting 03's stuff
If i'm not mistaken Brotherhood stops being similar to 03 around the time that Greed is introduced, so like 15 episodes in maybe?
Also I dont mean to be "that guy" but Brotherhood is a closer adaption to the manga, or so I've heard

But the death note movie was genuinely good.

Is Netflix the EA of video entertainment ? It's like they're on a crusade to shit on every possible IP they can get their hands on.

That's what I heard as well but I thought 03 was really good and what brotherhood adapted from it was bad and poorly paced. So hopefully the rest of the show is not as poorly paced.

The start of Brotherhood was poorly paced since it assumed you watched 03 and kind of skimmed everything similar to get to where they diverge.

yeah I actually found the first arc of ed trying to become a state alchemist pretty dull in 03 i'm glad they just kind of skipped over that

TBF he's right, All You Need is Kill's story is pretty different after the whole MC gets fucked by the beast and can't die part.

Edge of Tomorrow just made it so that it had a good ending.

Well, their shoujo or crime adaptations aren't that terrible though.

that light actor was never good looking
but light does look japanese, he certainly doesn't look white

honestly if this was full cgi it wouldn't bother me, with everyone looking stylized
but the contrast between real people and here makes her look really shitty

Kimi ni Todoke wasn't that bad.
And Kodomo no kodomo could have been butchered worse. I don't see why they even thought it was a good idea to make it into a live action.

>Why whenever Japan makes a live action anime movie, all the actors are generic same face japanese people?
Because you're racist and think all nips look the same.

thats not racism you moron

>all nips (Asians) look alike
>all Argentinians (blacks) look alike
>all Swedes (whites) look alike
>not racism you moron
Dumbass.

prejudice =/= racism learn the difference, cunt

>being prejudiced against a race isn't racism
Genius.

Just because all asians look alike, doesn't mean I hate them more. So that's not racism.

I'm watching it right now.
Why the first time we see the the brothers begin the human transmutation Ed is a kid while when he binds Al's soul to the armor he's already older? Don't those scenes happens a few minutes apart?
Or since it's a dream Ed lives it with his actual age?

...

I'm not prejudiced, I'm just observing the fact that they do all look alike. What of it?

Do I have to link the other post again or you'll figure it out yourself?

Sure, knock yourself out, buddy. You have a weird concept of racism.

>You have a weird concept of racism.
Yes, that being racist against someone makes you racist.
Think about it some more. I suspect you might need time to figure it out.

Not that user. I'm black. When I made friends with a bunch of white guys that all have the same hair color, it took me more than 2-3 times interacting with them to not mix them up with one another and actually learn the difference between their faces. Legit, I can remember names well but faces I struggle with, so I got a lot of flack for calling them by the wrong names.

What you're doing is like getting mad at people who can't tell the difference between unfamiliar kpop/jpop idols and calling them racist for being unable to do so.

Please don't watch it. It only encourages them. We need more anime adaptations, not live action garbo.

No user, you're going to get a live action adaptation of Sword Art Online and you're going to like it. And then they're gonna force a live action Code Geass down your throat too.

Didn't everyone hate the DN live action. I guess Netflix really want to make anime live action work.

Are there any cute lolis? Asking for a friend.

Well, I;m not being racist, I'm observing a fact. Next you'll say, Asians can't even be distinguished from other races by looks.

Saw this on my flight to Munich, at least i had nothing better to do sitting in a chair.

See? This guy gets it.

Like diamonds and iron

Why are you assuming I'm mad?

Doing and saying racist things makes you racist. Confusing new acquaintances is a normal thing. Insisting that all people of a certain race look the same, on the other hand, is racist.
I'm not saying that everyone should be able to differentiate between features that are completely unfamiliar to them.
I'm saying that insisting that there is no difference between a certain group of people (group defined by race) is racist.
Also, I don't insist it's a conscious decision. I live in a predominantly white country and the first time I met with exchange students from Africa, I had difficulty telling them apart because all five of them were big black guys with uniformly short hair. When time passed, I had no issue recognising them in blurry photos but initially I struggled.
However, saying that I couldn't tell them apart was only due to them being black and not because I had no previous contact with people from outside my country would have been racist.

>Well, I;m not being racist, I'm observing a fact.
No, you're not. You're being racist.
