Cliches you love

>the final battle
>the good guy and bad guy have used up every transformation, special technique and super move they have.
>it all comes down to a normal fist fight.

>MC has been a chuuni a couple years back
>Chuuni classmate detects his powerlevel
>Chuuni tells him the organization is after them and they need to stick together

fma brotherhood did that but it was shit.

your pic is the patrician chunni choice

>people have normal human strength
more of a trope than a cliche, but these settings are extremely underrated

Power level reveals that flabbergast other characters, but you as the viewer, knew was coming

Its dumb and predictable but never fails to make me smile

And the badass characters just have slightly above the strength of what is possible.

>Bad guy is so strong he just wants a good fight
>He enjoys himself when fighting strong opponents

>we see a group of enemies the MC must face next in darkness, they are all ranked by power levels

>The MC's groups is making its way through the bad guys secret base.
>one of the bad guys evil lieutenants stops them.
>one of the MC's group stays behind to fight him so everyone else can move forward.
>this continues until the MC makes it to the final boss's room alone.

>Spread page depicting all the upcoming villains
>Bonus points if they are an organization
Goddam I love trashy shounen so much

>someone on the villains side switches sides mid-battle/tanks a hit for one of the good guys because he thinks the people on the villains side are being too cruel

>manga about music
>focus on the fun of playing the instrument instead of character being mozart tier genius

Has there ever been a series where it turns out there really is an organisation after them and they actually do have powers?

(Apart from Inou battle)

>The MC steals a technique that an antagonist used on them

>Villain is personally offended that another villain is muscling in on their turf
>Escalates to full villain-on-villain combat

>MC's side character friend and minor member of the villain squad are secretly dating

>Normal person does normal thing
>Observer goes through mental gymnastics and concludes that this person is a badass that's hiding their true strength

>super powerful protagonist having to blend in with normal folks and keeps fucking it up

I love this shit.

Truly God-tier trope.

...

>first time I ever saw this trope was a fucking pokemon movie
Similarly that is the best pokemon movie too. Also,

>MC is in dire straights, about to lose
>Character that hasn't been around since way earlier in the show makes a dramatic entrance to save the day

>MC reunites with parent/sensei
>has to confess they screwed up royally
>terrified that they'll get yelled at/beaten
>parent/sensei hugs them with tears in their eyes
>"I'm just glad you're safe"
gets me every time

...

Boy, you must have loved Needless.

> MC is facing the final arc boss
> Get's ass kicked for the majority of the fight
>verge of what should be near death
> MC suddenly remembers that they have one last and final powerful attack that wins them the battle

>villain is the MC's former teacher

>Intelligent villain sees his carefully laid plans fall apart because the heroes are retarded

>Fights involve improvised weapons and dirty tricks

Steins;Gate feels like the obvious one.

Are they retarded?

Gundam Venice episode is still the best episode of Gundam, goddamn. GBF really can't be surpassed.

>villain genuinely enjoys his fight with MC
>battle ends in mutual respect

>"b-but if you keep doing that i'm gonna...."
>*cums*

>punches are so powerful they sound like gunshots

king is my favorite meme

>MC stops, looks down as his hair covers his face, and then pain fully scream character's name as they die in his arms

I like this thread :)

god dammit

When the writers don''t have any ideas and need a few filler weeks to come up with a better storyline will still selling new editions every week
>fight that decides if a global holocaust will end all mankind
>that was a nice punch
>i will now explain how i dodged it and what will happen next
>now i will explain why i was not able to dodge
>i will now explain how the mc is going to kill me with the next punch
>BEHOLD my secret weapon, i was only bluffing
>i will now explain how
>...

this thread ruined anime for me

...

is there a "cliches you loathe" thread?
I need to vent but don't want to shit up this one.

He is... the man who does x! Nickname related to x!

raildex in a nutshell

The laughingstock becomes serious and wipes the floor with the baddie.

1) Mentor fights the villain, you expect him to die but he actually wins. (but both get too fucked up and he cant participate any new battles)

2) Person who always has his eyes closed opens them for a power up.

3) Villain get defeated in an interesting way like being launched to space or thrown into another dimension.

4) Fight is just a normal sword/fist fight, becomes gory as shit and they both bleed and beat each other to a pulp.

5) Final fight is televised. Everyone is watching it.

>protag is losing final fight
>souls of those who died appear before him and cheer him on
>cue power up

My all-time fav trope is
>anime

Never heard of it.

>Time loop story
>MC clashes with reality and despairs over the power level difference against the villian
>Bro tier sidekick acts dumb, makes MC's life harder and looses every fight on purpose until his final arc where he reveals his power level and wrecs everything (usually before dying)
>High ranking officer/commander with last point's traits
>Keiaku dori

name some

So you've watched Naruto recently haven't you.

Lol Naruto

Naruto did it

...

just like in naruto lmao

>Opening credits show characters in silhouette.
>As the characters appear on the show the credits are updated to reveal them.

Gun X Sword was kinda crappy but also awesome.

I don't know why I love this so much but
>final battle against big bad that's strong than everyone
>everyone comes together to defeat him
>MC puts everything on the line for the final fight
Even if there are no repercussions that shit is my favorite.

I love this shit as well. There's nothing more exciting.

didnt this literally happen in the last Academia arc?

Saint Seiya made this trope what it is

>MC loses against the main villain but gets a change of heart
>MC wins but cries after killing the main villain
Really loved this in X (anime and film) and Devilman

>1) Mentor fights the villain, you expect him to die but he actually wins. (but both get too fucked up and he cant participate any new battles)
Kinda related, Escanor vs Estarossa

never expected that and felt very fresh

>the good guy and bad guy have used up every transformation, special technique and super move they have.
>relying on transformations instead of a better battle plan
that's not a good way to start a thread, OP.
>it all comes down to a normal fist fight.
that's not a good way at all.

>main villain is it more skilled fighter then the protagonist
>protagonist purposely fucks up to throw the main villain off and therefore make him fuck up too because he didn't expect it.

I've only seen 1 do this.

Must we have this thread with the exact same replies everyday?

reminds me of this
>one of the main antagonists is seducing female crewmembers on the MC's side to get them to his side
which also reminds me of this
>main antagonists are plotting against each other

Champloo is god tier

>*coughs up blood*
>I'm fine...
>*dies*

reminds me of an early One-Outs chapter
>MC throws a slow ball against a pro
>it goes through because the pro assumed that MC would attempt to match the pro's effort, so in the pro's perspective, a slow ball was out of question, no need to be prepared against one

why not

>best boy turns out to be villain turns out to be MC

>you are already cut, you just didnt notice it yet'
apple

Sailor Moon

>Bad guy's plans seem super psychotic and evil to good guy.
>However true revelations about the fucked society or value good guy is fighting for tend to be a lie.
>They fight anyway
>Good guy wins, but is at odds with what to do.
>Bad guy turns out to be cool guy and offers him a solution to the whole mess
>Good guy faces final trial under time limit.

>Good guy(s) become corrupted and evil some how
>after destroying the only organization that could beat them
>few surviving good guys unable to fight
>gray zone character becomes last hope
>even villains become a source of hope in this dire world.

>bad guy is actually a bad guy, without having or explaining his tedious backstory for why he's evil

>former antagonists become allies

My favorite
>Bad guy has a very legitimate point, just he has bad methods, or this point is not known to the MC in the beginning.

The best!

>a character sings or plays one of the soundtracks
youtube.com/watch?v=4jW2rh-_1KQ

I like this one the most when they're unwilling allies at first and eventually they'll come hang out and gokart or be your kid's godfather or whatever.

>Spreadpage depicting all the villians

>Really big guy
>Guy hanging upside down
>guy with oversized weapon
>loli
>guy with his arms crossed leaning up against something trying to be cool

When one of the MCs is so strong that he just shittalks and fucks up everybody

>antagonist revels in the slaughter

>Opening song plays during final fight

>Usually cool calm and collected villain loses composure and goes berserk.

And my personal favorite

>Main character fights villain first time with no real personal motive and loses then through plot it is revealed the main character has every reason to fuck this villain up during the rematch.

Bleach did that with Ichigo and Yawach, YuYu Hakusho did that with Yusuke and Toguro.

>second-in-command bad guy is actually a good guy who is the strongest and just wants to fight his rival

When one of the protagonist's friends is actually working with the antagonist and they're both completely unaware of it. Anyone know of any shows like this.

>third party faction as strong as MC

>second-in-command shows complete devotion and loyalty to the antagonist

>Pro old man vs the god tier op villain
>He is the hope of humanity, so they put a bomb in case he fail and die
>He actually fail and die
>the bomb explodes and kill the villain

>A mentor/mentors end up dying
>Gives their final energy to the MC, giving him a massive power boost

>OP in the finale/cliffhanger before finale

Symphogear S1 does this so well it blindsides you. The version in the opening doesn't play the long intro, so when you hear the music start building, it doesn't click until it hits the first note of the intro at the climax

youtube.com/watch?v=tth8RBM0Ol8

or
>OP removes characters who were killed

being done once doesn't make it a trope, why are hxhfags so dumb

Fucking hxh fag

When someone shifts into MAXIMUM OVERDRIVE HYPERSPEED
>HAYAI! HE'S FAST.
>NANI???? I CAN'T EVEN SEE HIS MOVES!

>I didn't need to beat you, I just needed to stall for time.
>REINFORCEMENTS FROM THE HILLS
