I won't.

being at gunpoint

None, I hate American accents partnered with anime :- seems unnatural to me. Don't mind watching ordinary American real life tv/movies but anime seems to only fit with Japanese VA. Currently learning Japanese so I don't have to rely on subs, but it's a long process, gonna take me longer than 4 yrs to become fluent.

If it's available I'll try it.

It doesn't matter unless the English dub is aggressively bad.

If it's passable i'll default to it because anime is an audio-visual medium not text-based. Basically if a dub is a 6/10 and the sub is 9/10 I'll just deal with the dub if the dub is straight up bad which to be fair isn't uncommon I'll stick with subs. If either are 10/10 i'll watch that even if it's both I'll watch it twice.

>hurr reading is hard
t. American

If it was made in LA.

>hurr I can't understand and appreciate the different strengths of different mediums and wanting to keep the purity of them intact
Nigga do you even own a bookshelf that's actually used to hold books. I bet you're one of those faggots who listen to music while reading to "add atmosphere" instead of letting the work do that on it's own.

I like watching trashy ecchi shows like Monster Musume, High School DxD, and Maken-ki in English.

>Cowboy Bebop
>Trigun
>YuYu
>Dragon Ball
>GitS
>FMA

Why did the late 90's and early 00's have such good dubs? Every dub now days is shit

If an anime is set in Japan I watch it subbed, if it has a western setting I watch dub.

Drifters, Space Dandy, and the Garo animes. I would include Shokugeki no Soma, but Isami sounds like garbage.

Fuckin forgot Fullmetal.

Never, because even if it's good it's not as the show was intended to be watched

The sword art online movie. It was an experience dude.

only if it's what you grew up with

If I saw bits and pieces of it on TV before, I'll try it in English first. For example, I saw just maybe one or two episodes of Fullmetal Alchemist on TV when it was airing, but just that little bit was enough so that when I sat down to watch it years later the English voices were already cemented in memory.

Dragon ball is a tough one. The English is classic, but in Japanese is almost like a different show (ie, Goku being voiced by a woman). Also, the audio quality of original Jap since it's from the 80s is noticeably more awful and sounds like it was recorded in a bathroom. Still great though.

Kuwabara

I prefer the dubs most of the time. Unless it's just plain ear raping or borderline porn. The latter is because the dialogue is just terrible to listen to.

>One Piece is pretty good.
>Yu Yu Hakusho was great.
>Dragon Ball Kai is decent.
>Berserk is classic.

>Hody is voiced by fucking Wishbone.
>Comes off like a psychopath regardless.

There are a few anime I like the english dub to

All anime VAs jump out of the industry into game or other VO work due to more work for shit pay

The anime industry exploded in the early 2000's in the US, it was a hot market then for VA's. Now it's stifled and shitty.

I watched cowboy bebop dubbed when it first came on so I guess when I think of it I remember it as being dubbed.

Problem is I fucking hate cowboy bebop so its sort of a moot point and I guess the real answer is never.

the Ghost Stories dub is god tier since the VA team had almost full creative control of everything except changing the main plot of the series

that reminds me of Duel Masters

if its available because im not a weebshitter

Golden Boy had amazing VAs.

I watch them when the show in question is an obvious westaboo show or its something I grew up with. Under no circumstances otherwise

The audio is terrible because Toei is run by idiots.

Dubbed always unless I hear a completely shit voice or a voice I can recognize easily from another series.
Greatest dub voice of all time.

Dubfags should be forced to post with some sort of trip to identify themselves so I know not to listen to anything they have to say.

Ghost Stories and Bubblegum Crisis are the only two circumstances.

When it is the only available option. Which has only happened to me once.

Literally only the most butthurt weaboos refuse to watch the YYH dub.

The dub is objectively superior to the Japanese original and the anime is objectively superior to the manga.

The only times I prefer dubs I find acceptable are the ones I grew up with. Naruto, One Piece, Yugioh, Pokemon, Digimon, and stuff like that. I can't watch a dub otherwise.
