There's really no need to skip the attempted rape scene. All they have to do is show the 2 dudes talking dirty and trying to touch her, and then she kills them. That's it.

Right now I get what they're going for trying to introduce Violet and characterize her, and the self-contained episodes are quite touching, especially episode 7, but I don't see how they will be relevant to the story as a whole. Unless they plan on making multiple seasons, a 24 episode show simply doesn't have time to waste on independent plots that don't really relate to the overall arcs. Beautiful art, beautiful music, interesting characters, but I think the plot is headed in the same direction as the source material, and I don't really think that's the right choice. I genuinely hope they'll surprise me, because this show has everything it takes to be a masterpiece in my book.

It is rated Mature on Netflix, and novel has plenty of explicit (gory) content which should be in anime later episodes (though zero chance KyoAni will adapt it as graphic as novel)
