That's why Japanese teenagers are expected to spend most of their time in community and any person not doing so is outing himself as a outcast. From early morning at school until late night with club activities, the life of the teenager is completely filled, there's no place for drugs.

I've been in Japan as an exchange student for 10 months so I got to inform myself about such things.

When I went to Japan on tour I got high at almost every location, sometimes even inside the green room at actual venue.

You'd be surprised how prudish high school students in Japan are. An old friend of mine explained that sex is pretty much work for them. It's not a "romp in the closet" like it is in the West. There's a set protocol and the like for the act itself and they freak out when someone doesn't "follow" the rules. There was one time it was suggested maybe not showering and just doing the business ... and apparently the girl got the shock of her life.
