They're both good shows. Madoka was prettier.

That season was one of the best seasons in anime history. Funny that both shows were time loop shows and they both handled it in very interesting ways.

I think its dumb to say one is better than the other. Both are in my top 5 and I wouldn't say either is strictly better. They are both excellent.

Both shows involved time loops, but their directions and focus were very different. Steins;Gate was explaining the science behind it. Madoka just used it as a device. Good for different reasons.

Usually you would expect the VN to expand on the anime, and at least resolve the huge stinger at the end. Instead, the O;N VN divided and stretched out the material from the anime, didn't resolve any open questions, was overall just a waste of time.

I watched it after Steins;Gate, and it was really disappointing. Madoka was just trying too hard to be shocking and """tragic""". I'm convinced that it only got popular because of the character designs attached to it's shallow characters.
