ITT: Anime from 9+ years ago that survived the test of time and still are better than 99% of the anime that came out in the past 5 years that newfags don't know about.

Just make a pre 2000 thread faggot

9+ years ago would be more like pre-2010.

...

but the 00's were awful.

...

MFW I'm literally the only person who has actually watched non-mainstream anime from 10+ years ago.

>tfw the mom was best

Chobits is great anime. Yeah i know it's mainstream stuff but still It's popularity completely waned away despite being super fascinating with its themes. I only see this anime brought up in academic circles or few intellectual parts of community these days thanks to lamarre's phenomenal work on it in "the anime machine"

>survived the test of time
Harem that didn't reach anything, well I guess that's a yes because basically all harems never reach anything.
>better than 99%
Harem ecchi that dosen't go anywhere is better than the stuff from today? Low standars my friend.
>newfags don't know about
Every normalfag and their whore mother knows about this anime user.

...

Is this too far back?

youtube.com/watch?v=-IEqQpIW5gA

HNNGGGG I'm going to go rewatch this later now.
Classic > Modern anime.

tfw you watched a shitload of anime between 2002 and 2006 but forgot them all because they were forgettable

>fiance is the daughter of a mafia boss
>childhood friend is the daughter of the head chief police force

I like this cliche.

Yes we need more zero nendai threads. There are far too many forgotten gems from that era like pic related

...

Seto no Hanayome was the first. Who the hell copied them you backwards retard.

...

Loved this show

Wtf I forgot to post pic

Nah, that's perfect.

A's was the peak of the Nanoha franchise.

>daughters of opposing factions after MCs dick

I'm pretty sure Seto no Hanayome wasn't the first to do this.

Top quality! Best mermaid show

> Anime from 9+ years ago that survived the test of time

I don't know, I see many an ass thread without Fate in it. Used to be in the first five responses, now I don't even see her in the thread.

I never said it was the first to do that. You just were wrong so now you moved the goal post to change your statement.

Dude, chill. No need to get defensive over something you both enjoy

This is 12 fucking years old now.

...

...

>Anime from 9+ years ago that survived the test of time and still are better than 99% of the anime
>Good anime still stands

Mind:
[_] Not blown
[x] Blown

i watched this within the last year
it was great

How did it end in the manga?

Gungrave

Best comedy walking through.

This is a fucking classic.

Utter garbage.

Nice recommendation thread faggot.

pic not related

godammit

...

Here's hoping the VN's remake is getting localized like the sequels were.

How did the manga end? Any moon-readers?

>2010 was 8 years ago
What the fucking fuck

...

...

...

>Sora no otoshimono
>Ecchi

A rip-off of urusei yatsura + tons of references is suddenly better?, fucking end yourself.

So 2000's anime thread? Stealth recommendation thread but whatever, I'll bite.

Love lab season 2 when

Sup Forums is dead

I miss Love Hina.

Great manga that defined harem comedy and girl archetypes but was ruined by the second half.

Terrible anime adaptation with a good soundtrack.

Votoms is truly glorious.

...

How is it not?

OUr lives will be over before you know it

Did no one read the OP? It says that NEWFAGS DO NOT KNOW ABOUT.

Have you not seen the state of Sup Forums these past few years? Newfags wouldn't know half of those.

Hachimitsu to Clover
I pretty much forgot what happened in it. I just remember that I liked watching it

What are you smoking?

...

Shame that this one fell off the collective radar, it's one of the few good ones.

Shit. Redline was more than 10 years ago. Feels like last week that I was reading all the shitposting about the 6 BILLION HAND DRAWN

This too.

I really liked it. It felt like what would happen if Studio Ghibli did a TV series. But with technology instead of magic.

I hardly see anyone talk about diebuster.

Man fuck this guy
The is author gets a hard on every time he fill his poor mc of the time with absolute fucking despair

I actually like both girls

To be perfectly honest i need to rewatch more than half of these

Isn’t full metal panic getting a new season?

Is it just me that people have forgotten about the anime Nana?

Yeah. "Invisible Panic!" In spring.

I'm not sure people properly appreciate just how fucking good we have it nowadays even with shitty Crunchyroll subs and the like.

real nibba answer

Yeah, but that one was pretty obvious.

Shit man, what obscure answers can we give OP?

Tatami Galaxy maybe? Rozen Maiden? Skycrawlers?

I'm struggling to think of an answer that isn't part of the same 20 animes that get mentioned every thread like this.

>fungal girl feet and fermented (decomposing) animal corpses

I bought and read the volumes as they came out, so no, you're not alone.

Been finally watching this. The first ED is so good.

Came here to post this

jesus christ user at least read what you shit talk

What is this thread, only 90s kids watched this general? 90s kids being late 80s-early 90s?

Stands even in the PRESENT DAY
PRESENT TIME

AHAHAHAHAHA

We're all just talking about good anime from the 200s. That's all.

2003 Kino was good.
Had a Girls Last Tour feel to it but over a decade earlier

>200s
I also loved the anime where zeus usurps the titans

Yeah and I go back and rewatch it more than anything else.

Or you know, Girls Last Tour had a Kino's Travel feeling to it.

Wait is this cross game? Its been awhile but its fucking great.

How many people remember this?

...

Cross game was awesome

RIP

NEKO MIMI

Nice sample.
Rip author.

Higurashi, mostly season 1 but also season 2

Buttobi CPU and Battle Programmer Shirase were both great.

Higurash did not stand the test of making any sense when it aired, much less the test of time

Speaking of a dead series we're almost at the 10th anniversary of this series' "hiatus"
