The moment it got too popular. Just like One Piece, Monogatari and Case Closed.

The moment it used porn scenes to sell itself.

when it stopped being a PC eroge VN and became "real" games.

But Monogatari is always good

In 2004, fortunately, Nasu course corrected the franchise in 2015

Fate was always a trash ero VN franchise worth more for the porn it produces than any other part of it

Since the original VN, a porn VN.

Hell, I'd say the lack of actual pornographic content is what made the rest of the franchise stopped restraining itself.

Used to be, it held back a bit, knowing that there's an outlet for it to let loose later, but now, there's not really any proper outlet, so all the sex appeal has to be channeled to another aspect of the work.

What went right?

When FGO brought waves of normalfag trash into fate.

->

It took itself too seriously. It's just a lengthy VN with shit ero scenes, but it should have stayed that way.
I don't understand why VN writers think so highly of themselves, as if dropping the sex scenes suddenly makes them more legit in one way or another.

>as if dropping the sex scenes suddenly makes them more legit in one way or another
No, but at the time it could mean the difference between failure and success.

Who the fuck reads VN without H?

>key releases clannad the same year

When it became popular so you jumped on the contrarian bandwagon

Episode 2 of UBW

from the start

>best king on left
>whore of babylon on right
Remove the right and you’d solve the problem.

When they realised that they can just reuse popular aspects of their successful stories over and over again instead of creating a fully original product.

Shut the fuck up sunbro.

Needs more lolis doing lewd things together

...

Is your post implying that Keishit is good? Or simply that people read it even without ero scenes?

>IPhone filename

When it stopped being about Shirou.

That's Nasu's fault for making the world more interesting to people than the story. Not to say there hasn't been good or enjoyable work made in the Fate universe since the VN, but it's definitely lost sight of what it was supposed to be and what the purpose of using mythical heroes in a battle royale was for.

>When it stopped being about Shirou
He's literally one of the worst characters in the Nasuverse.

This

t. ufo animeonly

I wanted to see what all the hype was about.

I do think that Clannad is good, but even if you disagree you still have to admit that it’a poppular despite lacking H scenes.

Fuck off, phonecancer.

Make me

This.

OP... sorry to break your bubble. Reality is, the fate franchise was always shit to begin with.

I hate every single FGO player. They deserved to be killed and raped in that order.
If it weren't for them being tasteless little shit Nasu could start working on a new VN. Ultimate proof that normies ruin everything they touch. No wonder society is going to shit

Who is Shiki?

That's not what I'm arguing, and, considering the parts of Fate that the focus has shifted towards, it's easy to say that Shirou's story might be the part people ultimately glossed over.

People are more interested in the Holy Grail War, the Servants, the power levels, and the waifus than Nasu's ideas about super heroes. Lacking any real purpose, the series is on a course of its own destruction. There may be some great works produced along the way, but it's not, ultimately, a sustainable path.

Tomoyo needed a good NTR gangbang scene.

WHAT THE FUCK HAPPENED?

Shiki was good though.

interesting theory.

>Shiki
>good
No. He's bland as possible. Typical faceless harem MC. There is absolutely nothing interesting or unique about him.

he had murderous urges and a cute imouto.
that makes him better than shirou.

woah
great character

When Aniplex took control of the franchise

What happened in 2015?

why do those beasts attack wall maria, and how the fuck did they get pass the titans

No, old characters should have a rest, his story is ended so move on to the next. After extella I was really glad that Nasu didn't have a couple of sequels for F/SN in mind .

Eternal reminder:

>Uro: Unlike Fate/Zero, where all the main characters are older, this one has lots of cute heroines! Fate/stay night was originally conceptualized as a bishojo game, so the very individual theme of "romance" was placed at the core. It had to be written from Shirou's point of view. So then I thought, I have this really powerful core idea of all these Eiyuu (heroic spirits) engaged in a Battle Royale, so why not draw their story from multiple point of views? That's why I tried to work more main characters into Fate/Zero other than simply Kiritsugu and Kirei.

>Nasu: I had no other choice but to make Fate/stay night the way I did for that bishojo game format. That was one of the reasons why I once said to Urobuchi, "I don't think I can make bishojo games anymore." The more you pour both what the author wants to draw and romance elements that will excite the users into a work, the more distant they get from each other... that was my dilemma. I think Fate/stay night does lack that "battle royale" atmosphere, but I really wanted to make it a work that would make the users want to get to know Saber and Rin better, or cuddle with Sakura.

Nothing

AliceSoft should just make non-porn Mobage with its characters and thus kill Fateshit for good.

When it stopped being an otome and became an eroge.

K?

If there is one benefit to TM's multiverse shenanigans its that they can milk the cow without ruining the happy ending of the OG cast. Look at something like nuStar Wars for what happened if they kept up things about Shirou/Saber/Rin/Sakura/all the rest. Every work would basically be 'And then they were happily ever after, except for that time a Necromancer took over the Clock Tower, or that another early grail war happened, or that time Shirou's kid became a demiservant'

>what is Steins;Gate

ok stop

>it isn't trashy when the MC is a girl

Nothing went wrong. Fate was always retarded. Now it's retarded and fun.

simple truth which is not so simple to understand

>dude just turn your brain off XD

The only thing wrong about Fate was giving Rin such a big role. She is just a carbon copy of better girls than her.

This. Doesn't help that she's a complete Mary Sue who gets fellated by the narration and treated as if she can do no wrong even when she's literally threatening to kill other far better heroines.

There are actually people who get off to Nasu's writing and Takeuchi's art?

I support this theory.

>Nasu's writing
Takajun's writing

>Mobage with Gacha
>Fatefags think this is a good medium to tell a story.

It never did.

I love it how everyone if Fate always talks such pompous shit and it ends up falling flat on its face every time.

People who aren't degenerates, The H scenes in fate are so out of place and don't need to be their.

>their
>calling other people degenerates

It's fucking true

like it's had H scenes, but now fate just feels like "lol jerk off to our girls lol fuck it :DDD"

Is that supposed to be a defense?

The mobile game.

They decided to sell it as eroge so it must be there somehow. Maybe they just thought it would sell more? I think type moon was just a doujin circle back then, so they needed to depend on the eroge fanbase.

Oh, no... a franchise born from hentai visual novels uses almost naked characters!
That's so wrong in so many levels! Why is this happening?

This should be a Sup Forums banner.

Monogatari is being milked to death.

Monogatari should've ended with bake.

Here, let me introduce you to something good:

>Her anus is defense

>and my dick is attack

It was never right

>serious answer
Urobuchi. Not because Fate/Zero is bad but because it turns a franchise that seems to alternate between "cooking with saber" and "shirou fucks [random side character]" into something it's not. And then Fate/Zero sold like hotcakes and everyone watched the shit out of it. All these nasuverse newfags watched it and liked Fate being a "serious" franchise about imperfect people fighting a bullshit magical war with a not so subtle message that even if magic exists you can't solve your problems with it.

>Monogatari
What? Monogatari is still great

Yes; when all else fails, blame the translation.

This method works wonders in instilling insecurity and doubt in both the readers and translators, as you can see by the fifty different translations of War and Peace - among which, there are no significant common elements.

Indeed, you can get any result that you could ever want for any text if you just say of the other ones: "It's a bad translation".
