I don't know if I'd like this or hate it.

Why remake something that's already been done? In terms of remakes in any media, I think the ones that are as good as the originals can be counted on both hands.

On top of my head, I can only think of Carpenter's The Thing and Cronenberg's The Fly.

I'd like it, the 4koma format is what holds this manga back as Fumita sometimes struggles from not knowing if he wants to make a fleshed out story or a gag manga, like for example during the flashback. It's not like it has to be a 30 page weekly, even just a 10 page would do as it would expand the interactions between everyone that doesn't have to end in some sort of punchline by the 4th panel just because that's how its supposed to be. Look at the Carol and senpai short in the omake, those 10 pages were great.

Commie-san format would fit it best.
