It's good - it's alright - it's not good
Any other metric is autistic

Why would i even rate shows? That's autistic as fuck.

>Rate shows
For what strange purpose?

>good - shit

Uhh... you do know where you're at right now, correct?

I still like to use MAL, so 6-10.

>...

Sometimes I'm not even sure where I am anymore.

Yea or no

Because the MAL has ratings? Where do you keep a list of your watched shows?

Shitpost or not

>Sup Forums is autistic
>but not autistic to use ellipses

You need to go back

>MAL
You should just fuck off to that toxic place. I am not that retarded enough to give some stupid number that is supposed to represent my opinion of the show. Why the fuck do you even need list of watched shows?

I don't rate shows

Yes or No, simple and effective

I use smiley faces
:)-I like it
:(- I don't like it
:l- I'm indifferent to it
:$- its shit but makes me horny

>Why the fuck do you even need list of watched shows?
Why the fuck dont you?

Good
Okay
No

Meme

Kino

I don't have alzheimer

10/10
9/10

Watch more shows.

...

>wouldn't watch
>wouldn't watch again
>would watch again alone
>would watch again with friend
>would watch again with a girlfriend
>would watch again with my mom

>I like it
>I didn't like it
Best system ever made.

5. Shows I rewatched
4. Shows I would go on Sup Forums arguing for, whenever I see someone call it shit
3. Shows I would safe pics from
2. Shows I dropped after 3 episodes
1. Shows I dropped before 3 episodes

5 includes 4 and 3
4 includes 3

Literally for what purpose other than to brag with your normalfag discord friends how much of a fucking anime professor you are for watching x number of anime?

Dropped it
Was okay
Liked it
Really liked it

>I love it
>I like it
>Indifferent
>I don't like it
>I hate it

Do i value the experience or not. I don't care about these autistic numbers and grades

Mine is autism, I need to make lists.

Grow a brain.

He is right though. You should.

I just use a Cross Ange based metric

>fuck off to that toxic place
>says this on fucking Sup Forums

>his girlfriend and mom aren't the same person
loser

This.

But Cross Ange is the GOAT anime. Not fair to compare others to it.

That;s why you use decianges or milianges
unless you're describing the animation in which case you use kiloanges to gigaanges

Why would you bother rating shows? Rating a show implies other people will see it and give a shit what you think about a show which will obviously never happen. Also, trying to quantify your experience of a piece of art devalues the experience.

Just enjoy shit.

1-10, 5 being average, in my excel spreadsheet with comments so I remember what the show was about

>three options
Lol, sperg
it goes:
>I liked it
>I didn't like it

So you remember what shows to rewatch senpai.

Good - mediocre - bad. There is nothing that doesn't fit in one of those three categories.

I have a list of all the anime I've seen ranked from best to worst.

I don't rate them. I give them each a short paragraph on what I thought of them.

you can use mal without rating shows

8 - shit
9 - good
10 - masterpiece

10 - Stuff that I hold dearest to me. Only four things in total ever produced have been assigned this.
9 - Favorites, like a top fifteen.
8 - Stuff like AOTSs.
7 - Good.
6 - Enjoyable on some level.
5 - Average.
4 - Bad.
3 - Abomination.
2 - Opposite of 9.
1 - Opposite of 10.

1-5 is superior

Objectively good/bad, Subjectively good/bad, or a combination.

Tiered ranking using 1-10
10: All time favorites
9: Shit I loved
8: Satisfying
7: Moderately enjoyed
6: Meh
5-1: How much I personally hate it

Just don't use the social features.

>Rating on a one-dimensional scale
Disgusting. I rate in three dimensions: Personal enjoyment, artistic value, rewatchability.

I go by rankings.
>Milkies
>Cummies
>Dry fucks

10 - Masterpiece or close to it, there won't be another anime like these for a long time if ever
9 - Personally special to me
8 - Stuff I found myself emotionally invested in
7 - I enjoyed it
6 - I kinda enjoyed it, or what it could have been
5 - Average / Mediocre
4 - Solidly bad
3 - Fucking terrible
2 - Legendarily terrible
1 - Actually gave me nausea

5- Masterpiece, reserved only for the very best. Usually around 5% I watch I give this rank.
4- Very good, usually my AOTS or close to it in a really good season. Usually around 20% get this.
3- Enjoyable and watched all the way through. Usually around 40% get a 3.
4- Was able to finish it but didn't particularly enjoy it. Usually around 30%
5- Horrible, stopped after a few episodes. 5% of he shit I watch gets this.

Here's some examples:
5- Clannad After Story
4- Shakugan no Shana
3- Overlord
2- Your Lie in April
1- Blend S

10/10, greatest anime of all time
Could be better
That was actually terrible

10 = every aspect of the show helped accomplish what it said out to do, engaging and fun
9 = A show that is very well put together and I really enjoyed, most favorites live here
8 = Very good show, I can find elements I didn't like but would recommend it and probably still rewatch some
7 = just good/okay might recommend but not on it's own merits, passing grade, didn't really accomplish anything in it's time
6 = bad, most likely pronounced okay, but missed something it was set up to do/ had too big of plotholes/issues.
5 - 3 don't really exist, BAD shows SAO-tier
2 - A flaming piece of gargage
1 - Ascended flaming piece of garbage (so bad it's good almost)

Basically 'grading' scale. Know it doesn't make sense but when you've been a burger student for X years this is the most common form of rating you know.

>10 = every aspect of the show helped accomplish what it said out to do, engaging and fun
10 = every aspect of the show helped accomplish what it set out to do, engaging and fun
t. hungover grad student

Why the fuck do people weight their scales upward so much? Like a decent show is a 7? I never got that. A decent show should be a 5 or 6 on a 1-10 scale.

>Basically 'grading' scale. Know it doesn't make sense but when you've been a burger student for X years this is the most common form of rating you know.

just completing it means i enjoyed it.
in the file i use to keep track of my backlog, i just have a completed or not category.

Numeric ratings are fucking stupid, you pretty much inevitably end up rating things of vastly different quality the same because its such a limited system.

>MAL

>not using Taiga

Too fulfill your psuedo intellectual ego

>I liked it
>I didn't like it
It makes too hard to choose, why overcomplicate stuff.
>It is
That's all we need.

1-10 of course, the only logical approach.

I hate Amerisharts so much

Could I marathon the first 3 episodes? - Good.
I paused more than twice for no real reason? - Average.
I paused more than 5 times? - Bad.

>7 is avarage
This is why 1-5 is superior, people always fuck up 1-10.

On the other hand it's a bit constraining, a weak 3 and a very strong 3 are way further away from one another in a 1-5 scale than in 1-10

>a weak 3 and a very strong 3 are way further away
Just use 3 and 3.5.

>3 and 3.5
That just makes it a 1-10 again though

trash-shit

0-5/5, also known as the Jogiin scale

V W X Y Z 1 2 3 4 5

>it's only good if it's a 10
unironically kill yourself

Or just say strong 3 if ones not quite a 4

This is bait

Only objectively correct answer is percentage based on weighted avarage of multipe factors. Plot, characters and animation quality weigh more, and things like art direction, music, pacing and character interactions weigh less. There is also a low weight joker factor, basically an unexplainable overall enjoyment factor highly influenced by the coherence of other factors (e.g. good synergism of music and animation, or a weird dissonance thats not distracting). I work on detailed table containing anime I watched that is undeniable the most objective way to judge anime.

I liked it, I didn't like it, or it was fucking shit but I had a blast.

There are only two categories.

Not shit
Your favorite anime

You're a sophisticated guy..

It's either shit or I like it. There is no other rating.

Anime is the opium of the intellectual mind.

...

1-4 makes the most sense.

Great > Good > Meh > Shit

1-10
10 being RanXSem

Good taste, user! 12/10 Is ran sem. It transcends.

I liked it - I disliked it

: D - I really enjoyed
: ) - I kinda enjoyed it
: I - I had mixed feelings about it
: ( - Didn't like it
: Ɑ - Hated it

flaccid
semi

cock hemorrhaging

don't forget the best one:
B===D~~~ - I really really enjoyed it

Watched it more than once - loved it
Completed it - liked it
Dropped it after several episodes- didn't like it
Never gave it a chance - hated it

Non-retarded people use MAL as social media? Hard to believe.

Unironically this, except it's 1, 7-10

Dropped and not dropped
