OG Pokeyman or some dubbed ghibli shit, not sure which came first
I can't remember my first anime. It was either Cardcaptors, Pokémon, Digimon or Sailor Moon.
Pleb
Spirited Away
Still the best all those years later.
Dennou Coil
Between this post and the "I watched half of S1 should I stop" thread in the catalog you're not even trying anymore

...
It was either this or dragonball in Canal 5(Azteca).
Robotech
...
These probably. Can't remember anything prior
I discovered Haruhi Suzumiya through a caramelldansen beatmap in Stepamania.
I feel like everyone's (whos not underaged) first anime that they had access to was DBZ, Sailor Moon, etc. Mine was Digimon and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
A better question would be the first anime that you decided to watch on your own outside of broadcasting which was Infinite Stratos and Bakemonogatari
First episode of any anime I saw was Dragon Ball
First series I finished from start to finish was Great Teacher Onizuka
In that case, Night Warriors: Darkstalker's Revenge
Rurouni Kenshin. Or maybe Dragon Ball? Don't remember.
Only the french knows him, the legendary Nicky larson
I guess Cardcaptors sakura, kochikame and detective conan were first anime that i watched as a kid
pokemon everyday when I came home for lunch as a kid
>MOM ITS STARTING WHERE ARE MY TENDIES
I dont remember. The only part I can recall was the MC and family riding down a mountain valley in a wagon.
>as a child
Dragon Ball or Pokemon.
>as someone older than 18
Somehow, Kill La Kill.
Outside of my broadcast was probably the Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya
This one.
First Anime I watched knowing its anime.
I've watched some Naruto and pokemon and some other kid show before that in TV.
it was either this or fist of the north star
sailor moon
How the hell can anyone remember which was the first anime they watched? Most likely the 99% of people first anime was Pokemon or Dragon Ball, now I have a special memory of watching Evangelion at 6, but i'm pretty sure I must have seen other stuff before that. Now the first anime I watched on my own PC on my own decision was Dokuro-chan on parts in youtube.
Probably this.
I see lots of posting but no one judging.
...
bait
...
Nichijou was the first TV anime I watched knowing that I was watching anime
...
no i'm not mexican
also: reruns of Mazinger Z, Card Captor Sakura, Samurai X (Rurouni Kenshin), Zenki, Yu Yu Hakusho, Dragon Ball and Slayers
fucking wish Kawara fashionable judo girl had been dubbed in my country
Pokemon is the obvious one but I wouldn't say thats what got me into anime. I also watched FMA back when it was airing on toonami but still wouldn't call that my entrance
I think the real one was Toradora. I remember after that I got real into drama anime and romance which in turn got me into SoL, comedy, etc. Started trying out all the different genres after that, started watching the classics, started browsing Sup Forums. Drama/romance are still my favorite though
...
I'm certain Lum Invader was the first anime I've watched full episodes of
But there's this one old obscure anime I've been trying my hardest to remember but couldn't.
All I vaguely remember is that they have a penguin that accompanies them.
Anime entered late in my country and I didn't have internet to download it myself, so my first anime was Yugioh. This was in exactly in 2000 and I was 11 at the time.
Howl's moving castle was the first anime I ever watched.
Ghost in the Shell was the first anime I watched as a teenager and got me into anime, where I eventually found out the Ghibli movies were also anime.
Azumanga Daioh was the first anime I watched drunk.
I really wish I could remember the first anime I masturbated to though
Okay so I somehow been able to find the channel which I saw it was aired from, and these were all the ones it aired back then.
But I'm not certain which one of these was it, since the penguin doesn't seem to be in the front cover of any of them.
If the answer isn't Pokemon, DBZ, or Sailor Moon, you're fucking underage.
first first-run that I clearly remember seeing.
Finally.
>inb4 >>/m/
God, you're old
Also, patrish taste I would think
It's between DBZ, Pokemon and CCS.
I do remember the first episode I watched of DBZ was Raditz owning both piccolo and Goku. I thought the fight was a triple threat match or Something when piccolo killed both of them.
Sakura or Pokemon, can't remember exactly because that was a long-ass time ago.
Tenen ten teneeeen ten ten
Pokemon or Tama and Friends.
Stand Alone Complex when i was like 13
Lucky star
>never watched Pokemon, dbz, Naruto, or yugioh
Patrician
Sailor moon when I was a kid.
When I was older and thought I'd watch anime of my own will, I watched Upotte.
Moomin
Pokemon, first I watched outside of broadcast was Elfen Lied though
This gem of an anime
this shit
Does moomin even count as anime??
the patrician is my friend's dad who recommended SAC to me in 2006, four years after airing. i got into anime pretty late.
detective conan
The Excel Saga
GitS is good, but pedestrian/casual as fuck.
ok cuck
>
>Not knowing it was an anime
Pokemon like all the cool kids
>Knowing it was an anime
Azumanga Daioh or Love Hina
CCS, Pokemon, Digimon, DBZ, Speed Racer, Transformers ?, YuGiOh, Evangelion, Azumanga, Inuyasha, Beyblade, Shaman King, Captain Tsubasa, dunno which one is older.
SAC is patrician from beginning to end.
My first "Cartoon" is the episode where ash captured caterpie. My first "Japanimation" would have been Ghost in the shell and my first "Anime" was Trigun
>Japanimation
Anpanman or Shimajiro. As an adolescent, the first anime to draw me towards this subculture was Evangelion.
Either heidi girl of the alps or Maya the bee.
Akazukin Chacha.
Pokemon, Digimon, Yu-Gi-Oh!, DBZ, One Piece, Naruto, in that order. Mighty Morphin Power Rangers was probably the first bit of Japanese television I watched with the Super Sentai clips spliced in.
Naruto, if you do not count everything I saw on TV.
Excluding all the European-Japanese projects (Moomins, Alfred J. Kwak, Dogtanian etc.) from back when I hadn't even heard the word anime yet, it was Fumoffu.
Animated in Japan? Probably webm related. Maybe Voltron.
But for sure DBZ or Sailor Moon.
DBZ as a kid who watched it casually without knowing what anime really was. Bleach was probably my adulthood gateway anime not really got me into the medium.
My first anime was Speed Racer. So suck it, pleb.
My earliest memory was the Turner dub of Gatchaman.
The furthest back I can recall clearly was Sailor Moon, which aired on weekdays before I had to go to school.
I remember when I was a kid I would watch sailor moon and pull my socks up really so that they kinda looked like stockings. Sailor moon was a mistake.
Even back then Sup Forumsnon wanted to be the little girl.
>heidi girl of the alps
Fucking hell, same here. I'd forgotten about the name, but I do most definitely remember watching it.
Not really sure how I even heard about Lucky Star, but I liked it a lot. Miyuki was the best.
Captain Tsubasa and other depressing 80s anime where fuckton of people died. Then Pokemon, Dragon Ball, Digimon and anything Rumiko Takahashi made and was turned into animation.
In Italy we've had anime since the 70s and old anime reran on television until late 90s anyway.
I miss topo gigio
lel atleast you can apply for citizenship now
yo, my ancient weeb
I just can't believe any of these posts that aren't pokemon or sailor moon kinda stuff. Like, how do you even avoid those before seeing something else?
From open TV Captain Tsubasa and Saint Seiya at 4-5 years old. The first I watched with subs on a DVD was Love Hina at 13-14 years old.
Ergo Proxy
probably speed racer in early morning cartoons or aesops fable dub on nicklelodian?
It was either Pokemon, Dragon Ball Z or Gundam Wing.
Technically, Pokemon. However, FLCL is the first anime I watched that I thought of as different than other cartoons I watched on television.
Gundam Wing and kiki's delivery service
I remember watching Pokemon on Sundays on the couch snuggling up to my mom as young as 4 years old
Still the best
The flying house was an anime? I remember watching it on VHS when I was like 4-5 but just thought it was a cartoon.
i have some vivid memories of watching cowboy bebop in the morning and pokemon at night. uhh i was about the age of 9-10 during that time
I remember being amazed by FLCL, and after browsing an FLCL fansite I first came across the word "Anime".
