Those weird claustrophobic shots only work when they give the illusion that something important is happening. They kind of ruined them when they used them in this stupid scene.

This show is so stupid

I haven't noticed a change in quality, it's a middling series so far but only the first episode was really bad.

Unironically episode 1. Poor use of narrowing perspective, stupid internal monologues, poor mech design, generic world building, cliches out the ass.
The only thing this show really had going for it was the skeleton of it's overall greater story but this episode proved that it'll bungle every opportunity it gets.

ep 1 / 2 when I thought it had some potential, but seems like last batch of episodes are just repeating the same shit over and over.

I don't even watch this show, but every episode of Sailor Moon was a "monster of the week". Hell, almost every episode of Utena can be considered a "duel of the week". We can minimalize anything to make them seem unimaginative, but the crucial point is that execution is always what really matters.

In episode one?
I mean, look at the cast: the LN-tier self insert with mid length black hair, the generic nice guy "bro" character, the fat guy, the annoying short brat, the tsundere, the childhood friend-tier girl who has only MC's dick on her mind, the quiet and calm busty girl. They clearly put zero effort in this and the recent episodes are just another proof

It was never good, but at least on the first episodes we could expect it to get better as the plot advanced.

Now we are at 1/3 of the show and barely anything has happened. I'm just forcing myself to watch it, hoping that the plot twist of the second cour saves this show.

4 and 5 were the legitimately good episodes.
