First few episodes were terrible but everything after them was god tier

2nd favorite anime.

It was a very fun and interesting ride - also very nice to see Hideaki Anno's ideas develop into the enjoyable shit show that was Evangelion

Easily one of my favourites of all time. Everything after the first episode is pure gold.

I managed to snag the blu ray of the movie (and Diebuster too) before they became fairly expensive, which is nice. Still far prefer watching the actual series, the movie tends to trim a bit too much
