Violet evergarden

>slow
>pretentious
>meh plot
>cheesy as fuck

>but it's muh beautiful

I find it way too cheesy and boring, and i don't find the mc likeable at all. Every episode is just violet magically helping someone to get over its feelings through autistic comments and observations.

Why do you like it?

Because it's KyoAni and only fucking clueless contrarians don't like their shows
Go masturbate to 002 and Ichigo fucking Franxxfag

Ironically because it's slow (not a detriment at all IMO) as well as beautiful and romantic. I think it's very good. I enjoy watching it.

fpbp

There's already a criticism thread up

>Why do you like it?
Because it's intelligent and smart just like Rick & Morty.

Where's the thread with actual discussion?

Holy shit are you pathetic faggots still forcing this retarded fandom war? Sorry, but you KyoAnuslickers have proven time and again to be insecure. You targeted fucking Kekkai Sensen of all shows while Hibike was airing.

Most people don't like it though.
Just look at the state of VEG threads.

Nowhere, VEG is very shallow so discussion is scarce.

it got hyped up way too much and now naturally people are disappointed
it's not a bad anime per say but it doesn't live up to what it was supposed to deliver

...

Just admit that every TV anime KyoAni has made after K-On has been painfully mediocre.

/thread

There's very little to discuss, it's true. For example we can't discuss shipping like FranXX threads do.

i'd find it more interesting if the plot actually advanced. Those episodes in which violet mets someone and helps that person seems like filling to me

RAMGfags are so dumb that they don't realize it's not shipping when 02 and Hiro's romance is literally the fucking plot of the whole series?

...

I don't know what RAMG means. But I just see a lot of love triangle talk in all the several FranXX threads I see, as well as how the blonde girl should leave the fat guy for the thin guy. That's probably an interesting discussion. Whatever. I don't care. I just want to watch my shows in peace.

I'll leave my opinion on that in FranXX threads, but my opinion on that's pretty strong.

reminder that violet wants to know what is love

A sensible mission to have in life.

>show about character development of MC
>episodic format with each story NOT EVEN FOCUSED ON MC
it was doomed from the beginning, retards

>Hyouka
>mediocre
good joke

2/10 made me reply

i forgot to say she also mentions the "major" every once in a while, what a great and exciting show.

Major plot point, user. What's wrong with that? Pun intended btw.

that the plot isn't advancing. i've finished episode 7 and we've seen the scene of the major dying for like 4 times

>Episode 1
>Muh major, I want to know what love is, where's muh major?
>Episodes 2 through 6
>Barely any mention of muh major and hasn't learned what love is despite learning most other things pretty fast

The overall continuity of this show is so weird, episode 7 is when she starts caring about major again and coincidentally that's when she learns that he's dead, and now her fucking job as a ghostwriter is pretty pointless since I doubt she'll go back to that in later episodes. Episodes 2 through 6 where literally pointless.

And? He isn't dead anyway so it's better to see him develop now than later.

What? She literally talks about him in every episode. She writes a latter to him with Lucullia SL, she rejects Leon because of Major, Cattleya talks with Hodgings about who he is because Violet talks about him all the time, she told Iris that it's requires a lot of courage to tell someone that you love him and she wonders what major thought when he confessed to her

The thing is that every bit of her remembering him is a reaction to something another character said, she's not actively trying to learn what love is or what the major is up to. It's like she gave up on him while in episode one she was more proactive on all these things.

I love her hands, I want to hold them

>every time someone says something bad about veg its a franxx fan
nice insecurity, enjoy your weekly thread that sits on page 10 while franxx has 10 threads each day

She was made to follow orders, not to do whatever she wanted. She's learning to do what she wants more now. Isn't that the basic theme of the whole show?

>tfw I enjoy both Violet Evervirgin and CHADling in the FRANXX

I don't think that's the theme of the show at all, she's shown agency whenever Gilbert is involved in one way or another, this from episode 1 when Hodgins leaves her with the Evergarden family, she rejects it and storms out of the house essentially disobeying the order. She is the one who decides to become a doll, no one pushed her to do it. She was about to go look for her brooch until Hodgins stopped her. And now in the last episodes she disobeyed Gilbert during that first mission she almost botched. She's shown to be proactive specially in episode 1 and during a couple of scenes in episode 2, but to me it seems that they put that whole main conflict on hold for 5-6 episodes to have what I think are unnecessary client of the week episodes, and while yeah those episodes have shed some characterization, I think it could've been done better. This is why I don't get why people say this is a slow drama, it's not slow, it was just put on hold, the meat of the main drama (or at least the drama that was setup in the beginning) so far has only been 2, 2-1/2 episodes at most.

Yeah that makes sense to me. Seems more like they were setting her up a bit before the flashback episode. She did change somewhat during those few episodes, but those were really subtle tweaks to her character. Like some other anime dramas I've watched there's a lot of setup for the payoff, so hopefully it's a good ending.

>lmao here's all those side-characters
>will they be relevant?
>fuck no!
>but we just wasted 6 episodes on them
>oh, and Violet's character development happened off-screen lmao
>we got this episode 8 with story and action and shit, boyos!
>lmao quick cuts and close-ups, muh shousa and fuck all
>4 episodes left
Fucking Suicide Squad had better characters and story than this.

it's just like fucking filler

Exactly, it feels like watching filler episodes in place of actual ones. What's even the fucking point?

I wouldn't mind so much if they didn't follow the "tell, don't show" rule with Violet's character development.

I feel like having her learn what love is much early would've helped make the client of the week episodes hold more weight. I also think it's dumb that she still doesn't know what it is after a year or so.

It gives a change of scenery by getting us invested in violet and have something different to look at. If you're 7 Episodes in and you're not invested, drop it. Episode 8 uses those moments where violet connected with her clients as a foundation for what is about to happen.

This is a meme, the tell part of the 'show don't tell' """""rule""""" are expositions or descriptions straight from the author. It has nothing to do with the actual characters expressing something or having a heavy dialogue line. A tell don't show moment in anime would be like the 'last time on Dragon Ball' intros.

anipl*x shills are butthurt over VEG making money.

My favourite band is Blur.

I liked few last episodes but the war one was horrible in every way.

This show is 90% show don't tell. The amount of retards asking why Gilbert was almost crying on the brooch scene was absurd.

>VEG
>making money

Jokes on you nigglet pleb, dropped VEG for Killing Bites. Best decision this season.

For Christ's sake, this is the second time I've seen this stupid fucking expression today - are you doing it because you are suffering from withdrawal not being able to "upvote" on this site or are you just unable to grasp that people have different opinions to you?

If you just want to have a wank, maybe.

>aniplex shills
Let me add that one to the ever-growing list of vegfags' boogyemen.

I like it because it's beautiful, slow, cheesy and the plot is ok.
Now fuck off you pretentious idiot.

>>oh, and Violet's character development happened off-screen lmao

She always knew what emotions were she just didn't know how to express them herself.

This board has gotten to the point where using reddit tier memes is acceptable and not a bannable offence.

Time to abandon ship.

there's nowhere else to go

6 feet under

A fat, ugly Armenian pornstar who's married to a washed up rapper and is only remotely famous because she's a Twitter meme posted a picture of Zero Two on her Instagram and complimented her hair.

Fuck off to nigger ball super.

This

This is exactly what happens when you let anime get too exposed to mainstream audiences. You get disgusting rats like her pretending to like it so she can get more attention and followers. It sickens me, and I should've known it would be a slippery slope.

VEGfags are on the same level of retardation and pseudointellectualism as RAM fans. You are well beyond denial if you disagree.

>reddit tier
R&M hate was started on Sup Forums though.

As if anyone who follows a washed up celebrity on fucking instagram would know what she was referencing rather than just dismissing it at "weird cartoon stuff". Stop being paranoid, anime has gotten through periods of way more mainstream exposure and survived.

Oh please. This level of stupidity was only spawned because people keep continuing the never ending meme of hating anything KyoAni makes because it's the cool thing to do.

This is like Hyouka threads all over again, but at least they managed to get to a point of people being able to talk about the anime; whereas this is just the same shitty arguments every week over the most meaningless shit. Even waifu wars would be better than this.

Sup Forums is no better and it still would've resulted in deletion/banning a couple of years ago.

It's just I liked Zero Two, and now my image of her is kind of stained.
>I'm obsessed with anime!
No you're fucking not, you probably only got a very vague idea of it from your doped out husband.

This is ironic and funny considering that I guarantee 99% of your hatred from DarliFra stems from its popularity on Sup Forums alone.

>This level of stupidity was only spawned because people keep continuing the never ending meme of hating anything KyoAni makes because it's the cool thing to do.
Right, unlike the never ending meme of kyoanifags shilling their show as the greatest anime ever, derailing other threads, and generally acting like cancerous faggots 24/7.

>and now my image of her is kind of stained.
Why? Your just giving the normalfags more power than they actually have. Ignore everyone and just enjoy what you enjoy. Letting fanbases affect what you like is a surefire way of never being able to enjoy anything ever.

Is that a saber clone?

Eh? But I'm watching and enjoying both VEG and DarliFra. How did you come to the conclusion that I didn't like DarliFra?

Aren't you as delusional as the VEG fans claiming that it's the DarliFra people derailing these threads?

Both sides are as bad as each other. But it's not like the KyoAni shills are the only ones. We've had the SHAFT shills and Trigger saving anime shills as well. It's only natural that the most cancerous fans of each group would clash when studios are airing things in the same season.

I'm just getting sick of VEG threads getting completely derailed and seeing people try the same with the DarliFra ones.

>I'm just getting sick of VEG threads getting completely derailed and seeing people try the same with the DarliFra ones.
Fair enough. Studio-wars autism should be the one thing on this board that mods need to come down on with zero tolerance, as its actively making the board a worse place for everyone and is 99% of the time started by falseflaggers who don't even watch either series.

I guess that's true. Thank you for the advice.

As if any of the dozens saber clones could look as good EVER.

I like it, I wasn't a fan at first but it slowly grew on me. The last episode was fucking brilliant.

The problem is Violet is such a robot that if you don't like her then you won't enjoy the show at all since there is no other elements to enjoy apart from watching Violet grow.

why can't i find any violet hentai? what the fuck

Amen to that. I'm nearly 40 and still looking for the answer.

>muh beautiful
Memespeak has gone too far. Stop trying so fucking hard to fit in

cringe

Bitch all 4 VEG BD are on the top 10 for hmv last I checked. Stalker is a joke, wait until oricon publishes the numbers.
Also muh China is making more money than muh BD.
To top it off the show was already paid for with just international licenses.

Nigger this is a pasta thread made by some frustrated ape, not an actual VEG thread.
