Clannad. I love the VN but I hate the anime because it tries to be similar to the VN without actually being one. They try to compress all the routes into one series and it's shit. Each girl gets 6 episodes or so and then fades into the background. For comparison, the Tomoyo route took 10 hours for me to complete. That's like 30 anime episodes.

The original VN was just plot porn with a shitty story that wasn't thought through very well, and all this "deep lore" is just a spiderweb of half-assed justifications for retarded chuuni shit to keep on happening, and then those half-assed excuses are forgotten and never brought up again as long as they aren't immediately needed to justify dumb bullshit.

I good question has a world that sets up what's happening, Fate has a bunch of generic chuuni shonen shit happening and then lethargically fleshes out its shitty world juuust enough for it to appease the retards that won't think about how broken it all it is.

I used to be like that too, then I watched some more, became hooked, finished it and realized why people liked it.

FLCL is basically the anime equivalent of catcher in the rye, you won't like it or relate to it if you aren't a 12 - 16 year old boy and you definitely won't like it if you don't have nostalgia for it from those ages.

There's more than one episode, user. You can't just watch one episode of a series and drop it. The formula is usually 2 - 3 episodes unless the series is really, really bad like that anime about the ganguro gal slut highschooler who gets proposed to by that nerdy pervert.
