>spiral staircase leading to nowhere and ends abruptly
Yeah, that's an accurate metaphor for life.

Real thread lads

Where is it?

...

They only left one backpack there, so they must have walked off, right?
They live for another day right?

F

So let me get this straight.
Shoujo Shuumatsu Ryokou is like the Spongebob movie, except it ends when they get to Shell City?

So does anyone know what the figures are supposed to come out?
I would like to have one.

>Girls go to sleep
>Mushrooms show up
>Eat girls
>...
>Girls go back in time. live out life in the past

I least I can dream...

Rip tatos.

Pretty much

For me, it is like The Sopranos ending where the creator is fucking with his viewers. should have been the best end point yet tkmiz adds the after-the-end scene just to make you implying that they are dead. Of course they will as we all are but should it be on a more positive note with an open end?

Bros for the ages to come.

It's over.

>Of course they will as we all are but should it be on a more positive note with an open end?
It is their last tour. It can't be an open end because the tour ended. They were happy that they have done what they could with the cards they were dealt. They were lucky enough to literally be the last humans alive on the planet, you really can't ask for more than that.

This is a positive end. Everyone dies. But these two died fulfilled and happy. There are hundreds of thousands of people in real life who live a long life, but end up dying sad and alone. The two girls were better off than those people.

It's too sad if you ask me. Not just the girls fading, but humanity with them. There's no hope. I get teary just thinking about the loss of what those potatoes represented.

>It's too sad if you ask me. Not just the girls fading, but humanity with them. There's no hope. I get teary just thinking about the loss of what those potatoes represented.
It isn't the responsibility of two young girls to keep Humanity alive. Humanity already failed long before these two were born. The two girls pursued their own personal happiness and they found it. That is no more or less than anyone could ask of them.

No humans in the city, not the whole planet. Aside from that, there is the plausibility that a humanity advanced enough to build that city would have gone to space in some fashion. A Mars colony, or something similar. We seem less than a decade away from starting that in the present. It's still very sad to see the ever optimistic girls just end there.

I never meant it as a matter of responsibility, but representation. They were the human spirit, hope, optimism. The last of it. The fact that they died before losing it is somehow sadder than losing hope before dying, because it died with them. Those nuggets didn't deserve to be the last ones.

...

yea, but you kind of feel a duty to make sure that the good times we have now can continue. that we can make it into space and survive the dying of this world

Something about this ending just gets to me at a very deep level.

Is this finally Girls Last Thread?

not until the whole volume is scanned

The cube at the top. It's definitely not just a stone at the highest level. It is some sort of device. I've see many people talk about it being a teleporter device. I guess the ending is just even more open then before. Can still be seen as the afterlife but from my point of view it has to be something more than a stone. There's a hint to those symbols that the girls kept seeing. If not, why did Grandpa tell them to reach the top? To make the last prank in the history of the world?

It is a goddamn fucking teleporter. They got moved to some place else on the planet that's habitual or off world entirely. It's why they don't have their helmets in the wheat field. Our potatoes are not kill.

Looks like our solar system

Grandpa just wanted them to see the final piece of beauty that was not tainted by blood. They died but at least death with meaning for they have enjoyed their time in their living

I thought this too. We know they had advanced rocketry, perhaps large parts of civilisation left the planet after nuclear war broke out and left those maps behind to point others in the future to where they went? No humans left on earth, but they're happily living on another planet.

Maybe this is the same earth Wall-e is on.

As much as its nice to think they're still alive I like the Elysian fields interpretation more.
It's like they're the latest heroes of humanity.

I'm a dumb phone poster and I meant last

That's just robot language, seen often in the series. Maybe they wrote it, but I doubt it. It probably had some kind of meaning and only tkmiz knows it. Anyway, in the rocket chapter we see there were different launches from the city we've seen and one has a trajectory straight out of the solar system.

It doesn't look like our solar system. Maybe another one.

My genuine response to that is "Elysium, seriously?" I highly doubt we got that page to show that greek mythology is real in their universe for some reason. Given that we've seen the symbols before, the strangeness of the stone being there by itself at the top, the technology of the world and Grandpa telling them to reach the top, I'm set on this. I think it's a way out. It's of course an open ending, but this is the angle I'm logically piecing together from it.

The symbol might just mean "beware of crane" or something similar nonsense, it's code language for machines and unless tsukumizu directly tells us we will never know.

>owaru made wa owaranai yo
>it's now owaru

You misunderstand. I agree Yuuri and Chito are dead, and are in some sort of afterlife in the last page. But, I just think the reason there's no humans left is that they likely left earth long before and left those maps as ways for other humans to find them one day if civilisation recovered.

A-at least they're together in the afterlife

Honestly that's the only solace I can take in this ending. Had they been torn apart by a cruel nature I would have lost it.

>google "fields of wheat" to learn about how it relates to the afterlife
>get pages of britbong Sup Forums garbage
Hitler should have won. The UK and the US are bad for humanity.

It's called Elysium you uncultured shit.

And of all the afterlife's they could have stored Elysium is pretty cozy. The two of them will fit in with the spirits of ancient Greece just fine. Food, music and all the literature from that Era? Happy days.

Which Greek philosopher do you think Chi-chan will enjoy hanging out with the most Sup Forums?

Reminds me of messages we send to space

So you're saying it's a pulsar map showing where the last surviving space ship went?

dubs confirm

If I'm not mistaken, This is literally the only scene that showed any level of dead organic material (other than the fish they ate) in the entire manga. The Tomb was even empty.
Also the Nukos make a remark that they don't eat live humans, which infers that they eat them dead.
It's possible they eat dead humans and do some sort of conversion to the dead body to Singularity / Teleport / Time Travel them to the next plane of existence as I said in It also explains why their worshiped all over the place.

It also explains why there where no ashes in the graves they found. The nuko eat dead bodies and "transition" them. As a result they were worshiped as gods.

> ...include those chosen by the gods, the righteous, and the heroic, where they would remain after death, to live a blessed and happy life, and indulging in whatever employment they had enjoyed in life.

Kettenkrad forever.

Whatever kind of dwelling they'd have there, do you think they'd want a kettenkrad bathtub? Kettenkrad bed? Some of their happiest moments were spent in that thing.

So the spiral on the key chain is supposed to be ?

I got the impression it was supposed to look like a fish skeleton.

Not sure but I know Yuuri would hit It off with Diogonese.

She might have a thing or two to talk about with Aristippus as well.

>"Dude, wot if the aliens didn't hunt?! How will they understand what we meant with the arrows!?"
>"Anyway, lets send them these scribbles"

If they went down instead of up what would have happened?

>No Kettenkrad in afterlife
>just wheat
Bad afterlife.

They woulld have starved to death. The lower levels of the city are completely dead and stripped of all useful resources.

Nobody has cried this much over dead potatoes since the great Potato Famine of 1845.

It's not scribbles, it's encoded in the language that all sapient and somewhat developed (i.e not you) creatures would understand: math.

>complex universal mathematics
>scribbles

Sure thing dudes.
Its (literally) a forced and unatural attempt at universal communication that will most likely go over the head(s) of any if any alien who picks it up.
Reminder that it will end up in the hands of the Alien equivalent of either CIA or Tinfoils

...

You are literally retarded.

Whatever dude.
If people are concerned that aliens will find a fucking arrow incomprehensible how is it far fetched that what we perceive as "universal" will also fly over their heads?
What is stopping from them misinterpreting and over analyzing non-essential elements?
Its a dishonest message.
Should have attached the electric circuit diagram of the internal parts, higher chance they could put the two and two together.

When they will seed potatoes.

SETI Just called, user. They were so overwhelmed by your vast display of intellect that they all killed themselves and named you their successor. Turns out decades of scientific development and research mean nothing because some guy on a anime forum decided they were being dumb and overcomplicating things.

Again,
okay dude.
You have history on your side as academics and Top of the Field specialists have never been wrong.

Why is it so hard to accwpt that the potatoes are kill?

Do you think they lez'd out before dying?

grandpa was the villain all along

Do not lewd my daughters, please.

There's not a single arrow on the golden record though, faglord. Everything's related to fundamental constants.
