The manga has 43 volumes so I wonder how they'll handle the anime. 15 million copies sold.
This is how far the scans got, but the translator ragequit because of the US elections, whatever.

Maybe someone will pick up the translations again. At least more people will be aware of this forgotten classic.
Good shit. I hope they will try their best and not fuck up one of my favorite manga.
Didn't see that one coming.
I wonder if they'll actually adapt the entire thing, that would take a lot of episodes.
>ragequit because of US elections
I want to know more

I still can't believe it's really happening

I'm not saying I'm against it, but what the fuck? Why now? It looks kind of random.
This is even funnier than I thought.
I'll dump the volume covers. The manga is getting a deluxe edition release as well if you're interested in buying it.
Holy shit

When you're mentally disabled, don't have a job and still think scanlating manga for years for no pay is the right thing to do, 10/10
Bonus points for acting like all the boards are the same.

I know some people don't like Kazuhiro Fujita art but I'm a fan.
This is great

I'm probably not gonna watch it but I'm excited for the chance someone will pick up the manga now like user said. It was the last manga along with 7 seeds that I was still truly enjoying and happy to see if a new chapter was listed on Mangaupdates.
I'm surprised they didn't do something like the Black Museum series or just Ghost and Lady first which is only like 3 volumes (and is great).
One is much more popular than the other.

There's a perfect cap-off point for 'S1', so to speak, as of the end of the Sahara Desert arc at vol 20+ or so.
How many episodes would that take?

Is this an ironic shitpost? Because it was genuinely hilarious.

Now it makes the most sense considering Ushio just got an adapation.
That and they're also re-releasing the manga in a new format.

the point you're talking about is only like 4 volumes if I remember correctly so you wouldn't be able to do a small season of it unless you padded it out.

Final cover. If this anime adapts the entire manga, it will become legendary. If it doesn't, I hope the anime at least does a good job at capturing the spirit of the source material.
I think studio MAPPA x VOLN will be adapting this, since they handled Ushio to Tora and the key visual looks like something they'd put out. VOLN have been quiet since their Winter 2017 anime Idol Incidents. VOLN are the staff from Madhouse that worked on Hunter x Hunter 2011 and that had Hisoka.
Hopefully someone picks up the translations again.
Nah, I guess they will end it on volume 14 ch. 134.
Holy shit that exactly what I hoped to happen since the U&T anime aired. I can't imagine they will adapt everything though.
Are there zero chances it will adapt the entire thing?
I just hope they adapt whole Midnight Circus arc.
> Are there zero chances it will adapt the entire thing?
user, at this point we don't know anything.
...
Not that user, but realistically speaking, this would need at least 100 episodes for a full adaptation and even that would have a pace of 4.30 chapters per episode. 75 episodes could work out as well but anything below that probably means an incomplete anime. Even 50-52 episodes are rare nowadays so I really wonder what they'll do.
I wonder who will be Narumi´s voice, he is one of my favorite main characters, he deserves a good one.
Any word on which studio is adapting it? Because i could see maybe Madhouse doing a long running show like they did with HxH.
Someone with a nice deep manly voice, they have plenty of options.
Not yet. The staff that made the Madhouse HxH adptation left Madhouse to form Studio VOLN. Studio VOLN collaborated with Studio MAPPA and they adapted another manga from this author, Ushio to Tora. I expect them to be in charge of the anime.
>Studio VOLN collaborated with Studio MAPPA
Yes that seems very likely.I find it strange that they don't just announce studios along side the reveal.
Maybe they'll do that when the open up the website. The website is currently password protected, so whoever got the key visual hacked into the website.
Lmao there have been multiple threads already they all died
Now anons look surprises
Will never understand
I thought people were just memeing when they said Trump will make anime great again and yet here we are. Truly this is the greatest timeline.
what?
The emotional core of the story really only appears after the Francine flashback arcs. I
>neo nazi
holy shit, people actually take that meme title seriously?
I wonder if the arc with the sick kids will be as fucked up in the anime, it made me cry lots.
most people are retarded
it was only announced yesterday, we knew a week ago that an announcement regarding fujita would happen, but we didn't know it would be an anime for circus
Lmao there have been multiple threads already they all died

there was one thread yesterday and a lot of anons only saw the news today, this is a very unexpected thing
>the translator ragequit because of the US elections
The scanlation community is something else.
One day later and I'm still excited about this announcement. Doesn't hurt that I have a rl love for puppets and puppetry.
I did the math based on the "2 chapters per episode" concept, and at least 46 episodes would be needed. Realistically, I think 50-55 would be a fair number for this many volumes but it really depends on how things would pace well together.
I'm going to need at least one Shirogane performance because those gymnastic stills deserve an episode to themselves.
Ushio to Tora had 39 episodes and the manga for it had 33 volumes, but a lot of "skippable content" was skipped. Here 52-75 episodes would be needed for something decent and that would adapt 43 volumes, but we rarely get anime with that length now except for kids shit.
What is this even about I seriously don't even know that series
Who will voice him?
Wtf I hate Trump now.
