How can it be a denial if he literally said "no" to a "is it true that this isn't romantic love?" type of question? Even nips who ship those two together were happy with that comment, they said stuff like "I love the director", or "if director says such a thing, then people will expect an AnPri marriage in S2" or "yeah, it's romantic, isn't it" etc, those are the comments I remember.
