The original, that the shattered soul now imitates, clearly cared about children. We see the current one remember the names and personalities of every cartridge. There is no discernible practical reason for doing that, so it must be a habit, something he feels that he should do even if he doesn't know why.
Furthermore, original Bondrewd was the only white whistle we know of that did not sacrifice another person for his whistle. That's a strange thing to do, especially when he had disposable Praying Hands at that point. It's not strange at all, however, if he cared about the people who became his PH's. He would sooner sacrifice his main body than the bodies of those who work for him.
The original Bondrewd was an altruist that would sacrifice himself for the greater good. Oh, how the mighty have fallen.

I don't think they'll cut down on any of the gore. But I have my doubts on the piss stuff and Prushka's prushkas.

The two most problematic things in Volumes 4/5 are Reg's torture chair and Prushka topless in flashback. Each of those can be "fixed" with minor modifications without really changing anything.
The rest of it is just gore, like Riko on the stairs and the Praying Hands being torn apart.
But they've already set a standard on how much gore they're willing to show, so if Riko's hand can be shown pierced by Tama, then Reg's navel is probably okay too.
The worst thing is what happens to Prushka, but most of that is implied rather than shown.
I think this director has quite a bit of respect for the source material and won't deviate much at all.
And I fully believe pic related will be left in the anime, uncut.

Yes this is the point of the scene. I'm pretty sure from here on out Riko also tries to avoid being naked in front of reg for the rest of the manga as well. It's a pretty clear change in the way she views reg.

S1 ended at the start of chapter 27, or a little under 2 chapters per episode(counting episode 13 as 2 episodes because of length). You would want Season 2 to end at the start of chapter 39. Unless you want Season 2 to be 6 episodes, you're going to run into terrible pacing issues.

I have a very strange gut feeling reading the current arc. What if the whole deal with Copy-Mitty is setting up a redemption arc for Bondrewd? Something along the lines of: he knew how precious Mitty was to Nanachi, so in his messed up mind he conceived this plan to manipulate the sage into cloning Mitty, which could then be used as a failsafe in case one of his experiments goes bad.
