Part of it is just the reality that most seasonal shows lose interest in Sup Forums before the season is over. Not always, but usually.
But mostly it's that shitposting sustains these threads, like practically all threads. A huge segment of the fanbase is 02/Hiro and that pairing is going really good right now to the point where it's hard to come up with new shitpost material. Thus the obsession with Milkman NTRing Fattie and yuri shit. When they inject some drama into 02/Hiro, the threads will regain some life. Not necessarily good activity though depending on your PoV.

I don't think 02 will accept a name until something about her circumstances changes. She has not been too impressed by the children giving themselves names so far. She is fatalistic and sees herself and all the rest as doomed to die so names are pointless to her. If her expectation changes, she might open to accepting a name.

It's likely going to be of great importance to her when she finally is given a name by Hiro. With how much the naming thing with Hiro is emphasized, and how much 02 loathes her identity, it feels almost inevitable. She could latch onto her name as a new identity.

The scene in episode 6 after Hiro beat the Oni-AIDS was great. Hugging each other fit that scene a lot more, especially because of the Jian metaphor. Them kissing in episode 7 would've probably caused us to expect them to reach new heights in their relationship with every new episode, and episode 8 would've felt flat in that regard.
Them kissing in episode 10 would be quite good pacing, you'd get the cute scenes of them enjoying chasing each other, Hiro giving her a gift, and then after Goro speaks with Hiro about their feelings he decides he should kiss Oni. I'm expecting they'll drag the kiss until the cour finale though, unfortunately.
