What's on your plate Sup Forums?
Pre-2000 anime
>BD BOX is upscaled garbage
This should be illegal
I've kind of been cheating and watching pre 2010 anime.
It's a beautiful work of art.
>it got animated because the Sailor Moon VA is a pervert who couldn't stop shilling for it.
Currently watching Joe and it's really good.
Had no idea it was gonna be about poverty and criminality but it's brilliant. Looking forward to how it's gonna play out. There's some meh stuff but that's to be expected from a 70s tv show.
Can't believe they referenced Gurren Lagann, truely ahead of it's time.
Robot Carnival was good.
She did? What a fucking hero. And she roped Mars in to talk about dildos.
>that show you wish would get subs
What's her name, Sup Forums?
I'm rewatching LOGH.
I just finished that episode
On episode 120 of Ranma
If I have to be honest, shit has gotten stale.
blu ray is coming soon, isn't it?
The latest subbed episode of Gamba was nice. Love those old school conman characters.
What 80's shows actually hold true and aren't just nostalgia?
Been watching Urusei Yatsura.
At some point I'm gonna get into more of Rumiko Takahashi's stuff.
Also, apparently there's a "Love Interests wiki."
Didn't know about that.
Finished Ranma and onto the OVAs now. They're fantastic, if only the TV series had that level of consistent quality.
Does anybody have the WebM of Kasumi getting out of bed (second OVA)?
Saw a few more episodes of Kodocha yesterday. I don't think it will ever click with me in the way that it does for many people, but it's still a nice story that makes me smile, and I enjoy it. And the episodes are dense with lots of content and feel long without being boring, which is good.
Aim for the Ace (2, Final, Remake, all of it man)
Konpeki no Kantai
Best delinquent anime.
Gave up on Attack no. 1 and started Attacker You. It's a lot better, but still not great. The goofy comedy and ultra serious melodrama don't mesh very well. Also You is such a fag holy shit. It's hard to believe she'll ever be able to play a team sport.
About to watch this. Heard the story was bad, but from what I've seen the action, art, and music is pretty good + I like heavy cyborgs
Finished Ace wo Nerae and tried to watch the second season, but my listening comprehension isn't good enough for old shows where the voice actors don't enunciate as well.
Started Anne, and it's pretty tough to watch. It's extremely slow and Anne honestly kind of annoys me.
>Moby Dick
Dezaki made a big deal out of this series in interviews he did. Is it any good?
We need more delinquent anime in general, they're so much fun.
Finally got around to reading Dororo. 9/10 really excellent. Gonna start the show today.
The original Tiger Mask looks absolutely insane.

Episode 20-ish of Utena.
He is still my prince.
This is at the top of my list along with Minky Momo and Daimos.
Giving hidive a try and decided to check this out. Pretty neat and only like 4 episodes.
Patlabor Episode 29. Great episode.
Is this as cool as it looks?
I remember watching this on TV when I was young. I thought it was the coolest thing I saw at the time. I'm scared of rewatching it for the story because it might kill the nostalgia I have for it since the first time was when I was too young to understand much and all I cared about was the mechs fighting
>all I cared about was the mechs fighting
>implying this is supposed to have changed as I got older
IT'S FUCKING COOL YOU LAME-O.
Going to start Tokimeki Tonight tomorrow.
I mean, I still care about the mechs but I'm just saying it might have some shitty story that would leave a bad taste on the cool mechs
Watching Yume no Crayon, it reminds me of Mahoujin Guruguru and that is a good thing.
Most of them
I'm on the last episode of Key the Metal Idol. It was a really frustrating watch because you don't get any concrete information until the exposition dump that is episode 14. You're in the dark the entire way up to that episode and, while you can formulate theories as to what's happening, they are never confirmed until 14. And likely, your theories are going to be wrong because robots ain't got shit to do with Key. How the fuck are you supposed to figure she's peychic when it's never mentioned once before and the series has a big red herring in robots?
All that said, if a series can grab your attention like that and make you care enough to keep watching despite having no fucking clue as to what's going on, it's a good watch. Characters are handled pretty well, if you set aside the cartoonish psychoticness of nearly everyone. And Beniko a best.
The home crew episodes are top tier.
Kyojin no Hoshi
The rest of Moomin
Any old mahou shoujo anime
The show in hindsight does a good job of making you have a mix of feelings whether key is a robot or not. The exposition dump is just a sacrifice for what could have been padded out with a few more episodes. It really isn't the must frustrating twist in anime, I think it's just people like Key as a robot more than Key as a human
Why can't people learn to encode naturally? I always hate it when people use filters or change the original colors of the video. I mean, look at this shit.
And here's the old encode. JUST-tier.
Is Key any good? I've been meaning to download it.
>There will be no more Iria/Zeiram animation.
>Ever
No more of that world, technology, creatures and her whole character and resolve...
I could even take more Live Action at this point.

Currently watching SPT Layzner and Vifam and wondering why mecha anime isn't good anymore.
It's good, but like the user says you are at the edge of your seat trying to theorize what's going on until there is a big exposition episode before the final. Some people don't really like that, because it feels like there are a few plot points that could have been developed more and some padding for the sake of pacing.
Victory is such a hot mess it's great
God I love that opening song.
Stop posting the diaper edit you fucking autist
>When he loses the mask
Shit's too fucking hype
AND THE ITALIAN DUB JUST MAKES IT MORE INTENSE
>Currently watching SPT Layzner and Vifam and wondering why mecha anime isn't good anymore.
Darling in the FranXX wants to have a talk with you.
Which is why I wished that most of episode 14 was a flashback rather than two characters sitting around talking about things we already knew.
Other than that the animation and art direction for the series was great.
I share your pain and you are now and forever muh nig
I hope you're being ironic.
I've been enjoying Tokimeki Tonight. Figured I'd check it out despite it looking kind of different from what I usually watch. One thing I really like about it is that it involves the protagonist's family a lot. Also, the dad is pretty cool.
Do it tonight.
It's decent and definitely worth a watch if you like mecha shit. Now its sequel is something I'd avoid unless you want to hurt yourself.
in the version i watched, it was cannon, does anyone have a pic of the original?
There are so many 80s girls that never got properly padded.
Kei & Yuri
All girls from Bubblegum Crisis
and Gall Force too
Madoka
Puru 1&2
The list goes on
According to aniDB it was translated by group called [Reborns Trash] but I can't find it
Im watching lotgh for the first time,I know its coming.
>I share your pain.
Oh, you don't know half of it.
>Found the HyperIria ROM for the SNES when I got into emulation several years ago.
>Played it a lot. Great ambience, hard as all hell but good.
>Stumbling through it because i didn't (and yet don't) know japanese.
>Could never finish that first mission, though.
>Some months ago.
>Find out fan translation comes out.
>Never knew you could pick other three missions, let alone buy equipment.
>Look up the source material.
>OVAs and two movies. Nothing more.
I'm actually rewatching it now. Having a blast with both the game and animation. Still, it feels like hitting a wall with your face.
You know it's coming.
You know you have been spoiled.
But it will still hit you hard, as if you didn't know where the blow came from.
The only anime I can think about is Heart Cocktail. Now, manga is a different deal.
>tfw I decided to begin studying japanese solely out of desire of reading Year 24 Group manga
Someday soon
Which pair would you dirty?
It have Norio Wakamoto so it's cool by default
Yeah. I wish there where more but honestly, between all we got there's actually a lot more than a lot of other OVAs that don't even get an ending
Neither
By the way, whatever happened to the scan groups that did vintage Shoujo manga? I remember there was a decent amount of them getting translated in 2011-2012, but they all seem to be fucking gone by now. Even the Kaze to Ki no Uta scans are dead.
There's still a lot of Moto Hagio, Takemiya Keiko and Aoike Yasuko manga to be translated, why isn't anyone interested in them anymore?
Isn't vintage shoujo a relatively niche thing?
I know those who like it are totally dedicated to it, but the fanbase is really small to my understanding.
Thing is, there was a time where lots of old Shoujo manga were getting scanned and translated, all at the same time. Zankoku, Kazeki, Patalliro, Poe no Ichizoku, Yasha and such. The fanbase was small but pretty dedicated. But everybody was suddenly gone, and before ever getting to translate Moto Hagio's Mesh, which will hurt me forever.
Low test
i mean to reply
I need to get around to watching magic knight rayearth
Im honestly semi-excited for the feels but I really dont want to see it at the same time, not sure how theyll pull off the last 30 eps without him
why aren't AnJ BDs still not encoded yet??
You're disgusting.
It's not a good mecha but it's blowing 99% of romance anime out of the fucking water
Anyone has a watching order or release order guide for You're under arrest?
It's impossible to ever go wrong in any endeavor using release order.
Currently going through the first Wataru series, it is pretty much mecha edition Dragon Ball.
Which one is supposed to be "better"? Top, right?
Do they not know or do they just not give a fuck? That's fucking disgusting.
Was pretty good 7/10
Really out-there story sometimes with some familiar and not-so-familiar story elements, should have been twice as long with more focus on the characters
Amazing action, music, artstyle
Cream lemon
Would be a tragedy, if we had lost the subs.
They really studied up on the guns too
I've already seen it, but why didn't you spoiler your image?
Yeah, the top one. The bottom one is not in the right aspect ratio, has an ugly grey look over it, and the video size is bloated considering the quality of the video source.
And here's the old encode again.
That show with cute mahou shoujo.
I honestly can't tell if you guys are serious defending that trash.
Currently reading Shonan Junai Gumi. It's been okay so far (50 chapters in). It was pretty funny at first, but now it's either serious romance or dead serious delinquent fights and I don't find either to be very entertaining. The romance is outright shite. But I do enjoy to see the gang slowly growing, integrating the former enemies to get ever stronger. Feel like the bond really grew tighter after they beat this bitches ass, whiney, suicidal, maniac brother bitch punk.
Hope it gets better. What do you anons think?
Also seen the Sukeban Deka OVA, which was mildly entertaing and so very heavily influence by Osamu Dezaki, it could've been his.The characters, the lightening, the freeze frames and general cinematography are totally his and the actual director had just worked on Aim for the Ace before, so it's likely no coincidence.
I've also wondered when Dezaki really started abusing postcard memories. His last Lupin III episode contains one, but Ace wo Nerae only uses freeze frames, oddly enough. I know Takarajima has them plenty and Ganba just before it too.
Ganba is great btw and a real shame the subs slowed down.
