The problem with Amagi is while it was funny at times, that was all it had. The plot with the Princess and the Wizard was barely a part of the show, the romance between the two main characters was never developed, and the story had no deeper theme than "Don't give up". The show was okay, but not much else.

It's metaplot was very poorly executed, due to major deviations from the source.
A lot of the managerial fixes that the park required were literal toddler tier in complexity, sapping any fun out of the bureaucratic struggle element.
MC had almost no chemistry with any other character. Episodic structure for half of the show didn't feel like it was building to anything and their mascot males were annoying pieces of garbage.
It was a good show for memes and image macros, but atrocious for actually being entertained.
