Dungeon Meshi Chapter 42

My heart.

Laius a best

Why didn't they eat the lovecraftian horror instead?

>Clams OD on trauma as Laius forcefeeds The concept of aging to Marcille.

Cute. Cute!!

Look how embarrassed he got from dream Sureau reminding him of that blunder.

Attached: x3.png (1252x1800, 359K)

>Laius was a wolf all along

Attached: x7.png (1252x1800, 348K)

Is this the OTP.

His parents do want kids

I love this series.
Anyone would have made this a cute heartwarming chapter about saving Marcille in her dreams

but then the author had to make that unsettling creepy Laius getting deformed

Fuck, that's freaky.

Attached: x24.png (1252x1800, 1.06M)

This chapter was really good, gave us a lot of insight into Laius' character when normally he's just played off as a lovable doofus. Insecure about being a failure, a deadbeat, and extremely embarrassed about his inability to read the mood.

>the monster chasing them is just a giant amalgamation of countless other monsters
Literally, the epitome of "monster". Suddenly I feel way more sorry for Marcille having to live off monsters.

Bully the loli elf.

Attached: x18.png (1252x1800, 532K)

Another goldmine of reactionfaces.
Even catgirl got a pair good ones sneaked inside.

Don't know when I would use this one, but it sure is a good one.

Wait, Marcille is a half-elf?

What makes you say that?

Her father dying when she was very young and her mother explaining elven extended lifespan at his funeral

Since I just read "to you, inmortal" I thought that was a reference

Didn't the mother die too?

Do you think they're done with the sixth floor next chapter or not? If not then what other monster that specializes in mental attacks do you think they'll encounter next?

The sorcerer has the same double pupils.

Mind worms.

I thought the same

Mind flayers?

We've done illusions and nightmares. Maybe a monster that fucks with their short term memories and causes confusion? Is there anything like that in tabletop RPGs?

>A monster that turns the chapter into Memento

Mind Flayers!
Vampires!
Driders!

>ywn use MarcilleĀ“s soft body as a pillow

Next chapter Mind Flayer takoyaki.

Pipi was her pet birb, not her mother.

So is Laius a deserter? They said he ran away from the military

Succubus? Dealing with the sex appeal, probably showing each person "ideal" lover; there is also the type of monster that put you to sleep on a perfect world while it slowly eats you, usually some type of plant

Wasn't it an academy? Does it count as deserting if you just drop out of an academy?

>This is the face of a soldier.

Attached: 1510745817080.png (295x351, 67K)

I dont think so, is probanly more a "I give up on this shit" and left in a normal fashion, the father in the nightmare went all "strict and angry dad" and phrase it as "runing away"

She also said Farlyn got swallowed up by it, so it isn't necessarily age. But it's an interesting idea regardless.

The nightmare said army AND school

So I dunno

Why a chimera?

He realized that he'd spend more time fighting humans than observing monsters if he stayed.

Only his heart knows why he likes it above all other monsters.

Duh, because it's many different monsters at once!

He mentions at some point that they're his favorite monsters.

It's the same chimera that was drawn crudely earlier too.

Sorry.

Do you call nightmares steamed clams?

CUTE

Attached: x30.png (1252x1800, 459K)

>Marcille
>Loli Marcille
>Loli Marcille in a see-through night gown
>Loli Marcille in a see-through night gown and a shocker

Ryoko, please

>shocker
Shock collar?

Same joke every time.

You think it means something like he can gaze into the dreams of people inside the dungeon?

Sex hair

Attached: 111.png (189x270, 26K)

>satyrs instead of sheep
It's so obvious, but I still didn't see it coming.

It's not quite his OC Chimera since that one had a different rear left foot (Horse).
But once again the continuity in Dungeon Meshi is a delight.

That one guy who was pictured when Kabru was bitching about Laius party also shows up to fuck with Laius in his dream so he apparently knows about his old gold-stripping party being dicks.

Attached: 7.png (1451x2147, 761K)

>he apparently knows about his old gold-stripping party being dicks
That's probably why he stopped paying them. He's certainly not the sharpest tool in the shed, but most of his "stupidity" comes from what other characters have said or otherwise assumed about him. Remember that he was the only one that didn't have a convincing doppelganger, and that the ones he created only had minor details as faults.

I like this chapter and all, but made think. That dwarf and hobbit are getting a little deep so far

A cute white fluffy doggo appears !
>"fithy looking dog"
>"doesn't look very smart"

Well,i am sad

Attached: sadmoyed.jpg (864x648, 79K)

hurry up, Laius

Attached: ss+(2018-03-16+at+04.10.49).jpg (117x392, 28K)

>that see-through nightgown

I-I'm not the only one, right?

Attached: 1363892497826.jpg (300x300, 25K)

It's fine if it's an elf.

>"doesn't look very smart"
Of course the cat of the group would say that.

You arent, shame is hard to find doujins with that kind of thing, or at least babydolls

the wolf in sheep cloths

>mind flayer filet

We only know about those minor faults because they were so quickly discovered. His ability to remember details about humans is very spotty as evidenced by him not recognizing Kabru's party until he saw the Kobold.
The problems with the other's Doppelgangers were likewise an inability to fully register small details, lack of actual knowledge (cooking tools, lockpicks, spellbook) or overbearingly strong impressions (which fucked up Senshi's Marcille and all of the Laius Doppelgangers) which aren't really faults with the others in the party but rather the immediate impressions that the Doppelgangers were constructed from since there wasn't an intelligent process grabbing all of that information.
The only merit to be learned from Laius' Doppelgangers is that he was able to create a convincing spellbook (though still wrong to the experienced spellcaster) because of how he was specifically training to use magic with Marcille.

>Laius experiences flashbacks to stomach parasites

Marcille is not ready for it now though.

I think you mean Laius's mom

a cat is fine too

Did anyone else cry at this chapter?

It didn't help that I had the Persona 3 soundtrack from the movies on.

Attached: 1508353429815.jpg (600x600, 449K)

> it doesn't look very smart
Ouch.

Man I need to watch those movies

Why is she even trying to escape? Didn't she make a huge fuss about joining them?

>on all levels except physical I am a wolf

Laius was the one making a huge fuss to get her to tag along with them.

Dumb looking dog.

She no longer sees a point in being with them after they admitted that they had no clue of how to undo her curse.

I got the impression that his recognition of the actual person was good, but details that didn't matter to him are what got his doppelgangers caught, like Chilchak's scarf. Likewise, how well do you remember somebody you met once while you had your mind on other things?

she now probably thinks her role in the party is "emergency rations"

I want to have Laius as my dog and play with him. Sexually.

Hehe, poor Laius.

Still, why would she need to escape? What're they going to, chase after her? Chain her up? She just needs to go "actually, I'm leaving." Annoying, edgy cat.

It's just a gag because she doesn't want to eat monsters.

Don't read too much into it. She's just acting like a typical cat while Laius acts like the dog of the group.

It looks so happy.

Attached: doggy.jpg (193x208, 23K)

Inverse Furry.

God loli marcille is so sexy.

Degenerates, all of you.

Attached: x22 aarrr.png (1252x1800, 587K)

He does look kinda of dumb though.

That third panel is hilarious. Laius is smiling while pushing a terrified child towards a nightmare monster.

Happy dogs always look a little stupid.

What a great fucking chapter

Attached: 5324357536456u85735735.jpg (640x432, 35K)

No, she isn't. I don't want to hear it in every goddamn thread from here on.

Who was the cat again? There were too many side characters at one point that I don't remember all of them.

Not that I care much about them. Laius's group is best group.

Why are you so opposed to the idea? Is your fetish at risk?

>tfw no elf girl to use as a pillow

This. Don't be daft people

But she's a part of the group now

Because there is not much reason to assume it. You can speculate about it, but we already had enough opportunities in which she or anyone else could have brought it up.

That was probably the real grimoire checking out her dream.

Laius will be permanently polymorphed into a dog before the series is over.

>that first page
Uncalled for. I just want comfy meshi.
