Looks ok but taking the sharp edges off of Rias was a mistake. She looks all Kyoani kawaiidesu without the aggressively in-your-face sleek hotness. And to cut the shit off at the pass, no it doesn't matter whatsoever how closely they adhere to the LN children's book illustrations. There are like 5 Rias in the LNs that are as good as the first anime's designs. They're nice but it's not like there is no room for improvement and they definitely improved them.
Either way, they could have been butchered and instead they are nice quality and were not going to be identical to the first show anyway so I'm glad they're good. New designer has clearly tried to make their own mark but it seems alright.
