I wish they hadn't tried to cater so hard to the people who disliked the first season of -san so much this season. It's a different show from the many iterations of -kun and deserves to stand on it's own. I don't find Showa-era humour to be funny and personlly think -san shined the most with the modern humour and NEET jokes.

Even if the overall quality was uneven, I thought the best eps of S2 were even stronger than those of S1. My favorites were Chibita's Revenge, the Mixer skit, Iyami Alone in the Wind and the Valentines special (not counting the current two-parter.) They couldn't have done any of those in the first season, since they were all based around playing on the expectations you'd built up in S1 of how these characters would act. I was surprised how invested I got in Osomatsu's arc especially. Iyami was a legit scene-stealer too! The writing hit its stride so well in the second cour, and it breaks my heart we'll never see these guys again. I'll miss them so much.

I find it weird Oso was getting so upset about them working. Its not like they were working at big corporations like Choro did in Season 1. Instead they are all living together at the house just getting a bit of money from their shitty little side jobs. It is progress, but they are not out of the woods yet. They need to realize you don't have to an extreme neet or workaholic. Whatever they do it shouldn't matter since its still about Osomatsu.

I will be slightly pissed if Oso tells everyone to give up and go back to being NEETs again. I know it's a comedy first and foremost but a little character progression wouldn't be remiss. If they're not going to make another Osomatsu-san season, the least they can do is end things on a hopeful note.

I think he was more upset about them not being together all the time anymore. It's a big change for Osomatsu since he basically "defines" the sextuplets, plus he said to Totoko that he felt lonely.

Also, since Osomatsu is the title character and the Matsu are aware they're in an anime, I think both episodes 24 can also be interpreted as him being worried about the future of 'his' show which is about to end, on a sad/bittersweet note (didn't happen in season 1, he brought everything back to status quo, but who knows what it will be in s2)

But they have times where they go to hang out alone. Besides they were all there at the time Oso needed to talk to them. Hell even when Oso though he was alone Ichi was still there. Granted they probably have more different schedules, but its not totally impossible for them to be together. Maybe they should just have a day where they all leave open to hang out.

There really wasn't that much showa era humor user. Are you just referring to how they were a bit more hive mind this season? I didn't really mind that since that was something that still happened in season one, they just amplified it. It would have been nice to see more skits focusing on specific brothers though I admit.

I love choukei to bits and has been a favorite over iro but there is definitely a dynamic between Oso and Choro, along with the nostalgia factor of them being partners in crime back in -kun. You may not like their dynamic much because maybe it reminds you of the standard boke and tsukkomi?

Choro and Kara is kind of boring to me too, porn wise again, its nice seeing them interact normally.
