So now that we gotten the key visual and know the new director is the one who directed Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei. What do you think?

Hoping it won't completely flop.
I love the arc, and have always disliked Itou, but now things are looking pretty shaky.
Maybe all the worry will be for naught tho, and things turn out fine?
> directed Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei
> onii sama
FUCK. Who thought it was a good idea to bring on the guy that brought us the autist at retard highschool?

They said the want to adapt all of the Alicization LNs, i guess its just a matter of skill? I didnt watch Mahouka, so i dont know how bad things really are.
Are we still A-1?
Yes.
Just a new director, and apparently some of the animation directors from the OS movie were kept around for character designs.
Hype for fujo scenes.
It wouldn't be SAO without A1
Can't wait.
Adaptation wise Mahouka anime was good. Sadly director had to adapt, at best , a very medicore material. Alicization Arc IMHO is much better LN to work on.
Mahouka was that bad. Only redeeming thing was the onii sama counter. youtube.com
Anyways:
Season 1 (SAO - ALO): 4 Books + Content from Progressive Vol 1 + Content from book 8.
Season 2 (GGO + Yuki Show): 4 Books + Content from book 8.
Season 3 (Alicization): Books 9 - 18. (not including the ongoing moon cradle side story) It needs to be split up or it's gonna rushed as fuck. And considering the director, it's gonna rushed and boring.
Honestly, I like my older Kirito, but I think animating progressive would have been a better option. A1 should at least show those some love!
In other news I'm looking forward to Karen in the GGO spin off.
> smoll on the web, toll in the bed
It's been 4 years since Mahouka. I hope he's grown. But the fact that ASS War is on his resume too, it's not a good sign.
This, everyone is lamenting Itou's departure but they seem to forget this is the guy who brought us two seasons of Skip Art Online. As long as the new guy doesn't carve up scenes as badly it'll only be an improvement.
Whatever happens, I'm good as long as i get my hype-ass matchups animated well
>Kirito vs Fantino
>Eugeo vs Bercolli
>Three Amigos (& Cardinal + Charlotte) vs Quinella
>Edirie's heroic sacrifice
>Pic FUCKING related
>Bercolli vs Vektor
>Soulus!Sinon vs Stubilizer
Yeah, a change in directors is good.
S1 feels rushed in a lot of places, and skips tons of content.
S2 feels really dragged out (except in MR), and STILL skips tons of content.
Thats cool but what if i post gameverse?
I always knew Liz was best but those lines hit me hard.
>directed Mahouka
Welp. At least we're still getting GGOA which almost guaranteed to be good.
Gameverse Alicialication is already getting my blood pumping.
Mahouka was fine with the material he had to work with. Saki and Horizon are fantastic shows. Asterisk is mediocre at best, though I'm not sure how much of that is really his fault. Haven't read the source material to compare it against.
I'm not too worried about the director change. I'm not convinced the old one was THAT good to begin with.
It's mainly a case of the first director being a fairly known quantity. Yeah there are some genuine issues to be taken with his choices in adapting, but overall he did a fairly serviceable job, and we'd have a decent idea of what to expect. The new director is a somewhat unknown quantity. Yeah he's a veteran, but his previous shows get rather mixed reviews. There's no guarantee it'll either be an improvement or a step down. So it's not surprising that people are expressing their doubts.
