There are six possibilities.
1.) It's just a coincidence. That's unlikely.
2.) One ripped off the other. I don't really think that's likely.
3.) They're friends and shared the idea with each other. This is what people say about some other mangaka, like Kishimoto and Togashi, since their series are full of similar shit.
4.) There's been a wave of inspiration from something unrelated, like Zootopia or something. I guess it's possible.
5.) Mangaka sometimes get together and decide they'll all add the same thing to their series. I think this is unlikely, but there have been times when it felt like every series was suddenly adding the same things. For example, in a very short time period, Naruto, One Piece and Bleach all introduced a character who dropped a meteor on people -- and then did it again to emphasize their power. That's too much to be a coincidence, but I also can't see the three of them doing that, so the real answer is probably...
