No, there's a reason I think Casca will do that.
When people use the behelit to become apostles, they give up the aspects of humanity that chain them down. Whether it's a broken body, emotional turmoil or a desire for power, the act of becoming an apostle gives something that is missing from the person's life.
In Casca's case, it's been suggested that she has become mind broken like this as a means of escaping the trauma, mentally. If she were to be forced to face that traumatic past, she may not be able to handle it. This is where my reasoning comes from.
Griffith's own actions were equally selfish despite the scale of the debt he should have owed his own soldiers for putting it all on the line to save him. You can't claim what I said is not possible.
